the birdees you see in the above film are the show piece of the gestapos over here. unlike the little yellow and the small greens which operate only during the day, these are day and night operators and are the coveted possessions of the gestapo - their brand of "stealth fighters"!
there are two varieties - the brown spotted ones and the blackies. blackies are extremely difficult to distinguish from the local crows. and many a time they get away for i dont want to risk killing a crow accidentally.
i can assure you these Pbirds are not native to this part of the country. at the initial stages of being introduced to the locality they have a bunch of crows in tow trying to chase them away.
the sound track in the film was originally recorded in early the morning hours from within my bedroom. the shrieks of the pBird following my comment was recorded at 0200hrs. each screeching episode last a few minutes; the pbird climaxes and stops. this cycl is repeated at regular hourly intervals with clock work precision - the poor birds!
this episodic screeching, or music if you want to call it that, when it originates from within a couple of meters of your bed is not a very pleasent experience; especially so, during the odd hours in the night when you would like to sleep.
why do they do it? well, it is the next best thing the gestapo can do as long as they have not succeeded in getting the victim inside the four walls of the notorious police lock ups of this place!
i received death threats from the gestapo through their pimps when i shot down some of the stealth fighters. i persisted with the shooting in spite of the threats and the next time i killed one, i had it tied to the hatch of my four wheeler and dragged it along the whole of thiruvananthapuram city.
i pinched myself right now and vow ! i am still alive.
