after loggin on to the net, nothing was working and it was then that i tried the tracert command and see the response. sancharnet is the bsnl isp. obviously, the connection was being frozen from the server end and all the time the meter was ticking away both the phone and the internet!

i am accessing the net with the same pc now through the vsnl and there has not been too much of obvious problems, except perhaps on 19/20 june 06 night when after a certain period on the net the screen started getting pasted and i had to reboot the system a number of times and ultimately stop.
