I'm David-XE2DAK-, I live in Mexicali, capital city of Baja California, a large industrial area of northwestern Mexico.
I am located just four miles south of the international border from Calexico, and near the main avenues of the city and easy to drive on this boulevard Lazaro Cardenas, in the southeast of the city of Mexicali.
My city has about a million inhabitants. The summer here is really hot, temperatures sometimes reach 125* Farenheit degrees. A few years ago ... "Almost hell"! .
I knew the hobby in 1992 with my fellas on the block, and I got my distinctive ringing in summer 1999.
In the area where I live near sites fairly saturated signal and high-frequency interference are very high but the spread is acceptable.
I am an active member of the Asociacion de Radio-aficionados del Noroeste, A.C (XE2RAN), in Tijuana, Mexico; and a co-Founder and active member of Red Digital del Noroeste, A.C., since 2008, on Mexicali., and you can find me in the digital/analog system on EchoLink, and eQSO too on my local Link 145.770 MHz.
My city is near the "Sisters cities of Tijuana and Tecate, in the west of the peninsula. Near the port of San Felipe and its beaches. I am also 60 km. The Colorado River, which divides the state of Sonora and Baja California . We visit the residents and tourists from southern California and Arizona.
I like to work digital modes PSK, RTTY and Packet, and also SWL, so you can catch me in 7070 KHz PSK-31 mode and 20 meters too, in 145.050 & 145.010 MHz XE2DAK-1.
