The Awards

A Slayers Fanfic by Xel'sGirl

The big night came. The night of the awards. The Slayers cast was to attend. Because this is the Slayers cast we're talking about, Xel'sGirl, the hostess, had to do a roll call at the beginning. She pulled a small clipboard out of seemingly nowhere, and began to call out the names. "DARK LORDS: Shabranigdo?" She called the first name on the list. "Here." Said a red-haired man at the back. Shabranigdo wasn't happy. Xel'sGirl had had to have L-Sama change his form to a human's, because otherwise, he wouldn't fit in the room. All the Dark Lords had had to be changed for the awards ceremony. But ol' Shabby was especially mad about his eyes. Those had had to be changed too. "Good. Dark Star?" Inquired Xel'sGirl. A man with coal-black hair raised his hand. Dark Star wasn't as angry as Shabranigdo, but he wasn't terribly happy either. He just wanted it all to be over as soon as possible. "Death Fog?" Xel'sGirl asked. "Here." Said a man with the wispiest hair you've ever seen. He had the same opinion as Dark Star. "Chaotic Blue?" "Here!" Called a beautiful woman with long wavy blue hair. She was as happy as anybody to be at the awards. "L-Sama?" Xel'sGirl continued with the roll call. The Dark Golden Lord fingered her hair and stared at Xel'sGirl with her gold eyes. "I'm here." She said finally. "Good. Now, let's see……" Xel'sGirl was looking at her list. "Dynast?" A young man with untidy blackish-brown hair answered by raising his hand in the air. "Gaav?" Silence. "Gaav?" She asked again. Nothing. "GAAV!!!" She yelled. Still nothing. Just then, Chaotic Blue wandered up on the stage, and whispered something in Xel'sGirl's ear. "NO!" Cried Xel'sGirl in dismay. "He WOULDN'T!" "Well, I saw him, so he did." Chaotic Blue said. Xel'sGirl, wearing a purple sequined dress with a broach of a chibi Xelloss on it, and her hair up in an untidy bun that left wisps on hair on her flushed face, stomped off the stage. Chaotic Blue had been right. There was Gaav, in the hall, opening his trenchcoat at innocent people, which went fleeing. "GAAV!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Xel'sGirl shrieked at the man in the orange trenchcoat. She grabbed him by the collar, and dragged him back to his seat in the award room. "Now," she said once she had recollected herself and was back on the stage. "Where were we? Ah yes. Phibrizzo?" The Hellmaster waved his arm about in the air. "Ok. Now…. Zelas?" She asked. "H… cough E… hack R… wheeze E!" Croaked the smoked-out voice of The Beastmaster. "Good. Deep Sea Dolphin?" Inquired the hostess. "WHEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!" The shout came from Deep Sea Dolphin, who was swinging from the chandelier in the center of the room. "DOLPHIN! GET DOWN FROM THERE NOW!" Yelled Xel'sGirl angrily. Deep Sea Dolphin paid absolutely NO attention to her, and went on swinging. Xel'sGirl slapped her palm to her forehead, and whispered to herself, "I NEVER should have invited her! WELL! Let's continue. DRAGON LORDS: Ceipheid?" The Flare Dragon had taken the form of a young, blue-haired man. "Yes, I'm here." He said. All the Mazoku booed. "MOVING ON….." Xel'sGirl said loudly. The Mazoku quieted down. They knew she was a Mazoku herself, and if they didn't, she would make them pay. "Water Dragon King? Earth Dragon King? Fire Dragon King? Air Dragon King?" She asked. There were four shouts of 'HERE!'. "Excellent! Now… DRAGONS IN GENERAL: Filia Ul Copt?" She asked. "Here… but …" Said Filia. "Yes, Filia?" "WHY DID YOU HAVE TO SEAT ME NEXT TO THIS NAMAGOMI?!?!?!?" She yelled, pointing her mace towards Xelloss, who was sitting in the next seat. Xel'sGirl flopped on her face. "Deal with it, Filia." She said. "Milgazia?" The Golden Dragon raised his hand solemnly. "Ok… MAZOKU: Xelloss Metallium?" Milgazia glared at Xelloss. Filia maced him. "OW! I'm here!" Said The Trickster Priest. "Kanzel? Mazenda?" Asked the hostess. Both the Mazoku said they were there. "Seygram?" Xel'sGirl was just eager to get the roll call over with. Seygram was racing about in the top box, because Xelloss had stolen his mask. "SEYGRAM! XELLOSS!" She called. They stopped. "Good. Xelloss, give back Seygram's mask." "Awww… Xel'sGirl-San…. Do I have to?" Xelloss was going in his childlike whining technique, that always seemed to make Xel'sGirl give him what he wanted. NO! She told herself. She clenched her fist. "YES! You have to!" She said angrily. "Whatever you say, Xel'sGirl-San." Xelloss obediently gave back the mask, and sat down. "Well, I'm obviously here." Said Seygram. "Ok. Valgaav?" The Mazoku-Ancient Dragon hybrid was chasing Gourry around the whole building, trying to get The Sword Of Light. "VALGAAV!" She yelled. "Yes, Xel'sGirl-San?" Valgaav asked. "Sit DOWN." "Ok" "NOW, moving on to the HUMANS: Martina Xoana Mel Navratalova?" Said Xel'sGirl. "HERE, I'M HERE!" Cried Martina, waving from the balcony so hard, that she nearly fell over the rail. "OK MARTINA! SIT DOWN!" Xel'sGirl wanted nothing more than to have the whole thing over with. Zangulus had not been able to make it to the awards ceremony. "Lina Inverse?" Lina said, "Here!" And looked over at Gourry, then blushed. "Gourry Gabriev?" "What? Yeah, I think that's my name…" "OK, Gourry." "Zelgadiss Graywords?" " Yes. I have attended this dull event." Zel said flatly. Xel'sGirl ignored his disinterest, and continued. "Amelia Wil Tesla Seyruun?" "Yes! I, the one TRUE ally of Justice have come to this event of Justice!" She yelled, then looked at Zel for reassurance. He went red. "OK, Amelia. Sylphiel Nels Rada?" "Here. Gourry Dear! Gourry Dear!" Lina looked very angry. "And FINALLY, Gracia Ul Naga Seyruun?" Naga looked very pink. "That's not my name!" She said very angrily. "Ok, what is it then?" Xel'sGirl inquired. "I AM THE GREAT NAGA, THE WHITE SERPENT, NAGA THE SERPENT! OHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO!!!!!!!!!" Naga screeched. "Oh God." Xel'sGirl whispered to herself. In the end, they never had any awards, because Lina got bored with the whole thing, and Fireballed the building. "That was a great success, don't you think, Xel'sGirl-San?" Xelloss asked.
