The God of War, son of Zeus and Hera, half-brother of Hercules. Ares has many goals, all centered around himself and the propagation of war throughout Greece. He thrives on bloodshed, but over time he has learned to value strategy, tactics, and politics as much as battle prowess.
Ares' machinations often put him in direct conflict with Hercules or Xena, rumors have circulated hinting at a blood-connection between the Warrior Princess and the God of War, but so far these reports remain unsubstantiated. Only time will tell….
Recently, Ares sided with Dahak, but found himself once again at the mercy of the god he served. At this point, an intelligent immortal would slip into the shadows, rebuild his power, and emerge to strike when his foes least suspect it….
Fortunatley Dahak has come to an end, but the Twilight of the Gods has begun, the birth of Eve is only the beginning to their end. Ares, in a more humanly state, gives up his immortality to save the lives of Gabrielle and Eve. This sacrifice has given him some compassion from Xena.
Eventually Ares gets his God-hood back, and is back to his old self, without the help of Xena he wouldn't be a God again. One of the few Olympians left, Ares reclaims his throne as the God of War...how long will he rein as the God of War, who knows? |
