Set out to control his own destiny, he and Xena cross paths and he ultimately ends up breaking her legs.  Years later after he's been dead, he changes the world where Xena is his queen and together they rule Rome,  by destroying the quilt of time.  Even in a different world Caeser and Xena always cross paths one way or another.
