With a similar look as Strife, Deimos was much more pursuasive, when Aphrodite and Hephaestus had a fight her powers were off, so Deimos used that to his advantage and cast a spell on the Amazons and made them his slaves-they had to do everything a man told them to do.  Luckily Hercules fixed things.       Deimos' encounter with Xena was a brief one, seeing her kill Poseidon and the other Olympians surely terrified him.
