My Lost Dream

I wished upon a star, for someone to love

            And there you were, standing by my side.

You were my fantasy come true,

            But now my dream is gone.

 

You were the one I wanted to share my life with.

            I loved you so very much.

You brought joy to my world of pain and hate.

            Now, once again, I am alone with my anguish.

 

The fire of grief has consumed my soul.

            Without you my life is meaningless.

How I long to hold in my arms again.

            I yearn for the warmth of your touch.

 

Never again shall I feel your warm embrace.

            No more shall my ears taste the sweetness of your voice.

Your sapphire eyes shall never sparkle again.

            Death’s Winter breath has claimed my precious Spring rose.

 

Now you’ve become my angel far away.

            You were so young, why did you have to go?

Your life was taken away far too soon.

            An uncaring fool has stolen you from me.
