Mother Gaea

A distant, fading memory

Deep within the hollows of my mind.

A serene melody

            Issuing forth from yesterday.

A forgotten promise

Flickering in the darkness of time.

A lost treasure

Lying in the depths of Pain’s great ocean.

A once proud star

Now is lost amongst the clutter of Science.

A celestial sphere

Lies dying at the hands of Progress.

A heavenly home

            Corrupted by man’s Technology.

These all represent

The greatest living creation ever made.

We once called her Mother,

So why do we hurt her so much?

She is slowly dying.

A very lonesome death at our hands.

Her hope is growing dim.

She desperately needs our help and love.

We have cast her aside.

Science has taken her place within our hearts.

I fear her end is near, I wish this was not so.

We can still help, our mother... Mother Gaea.
