Mankind’s Desires

Echoing through the Night’s hollows

            Are the hushed whispers of mankind’s desires.

Ever so slowly they creep upward...

            Longing to lay rest upon a single glorious star.

Millions, billions of soul-deep outcries...

            Issue forth from the hearts of all creatures.

Freedom, peace, wealth, love, trust...

            Simple words converted into hopes and wants.

Every individual gazes toward the starlit sky...

            Searching for the one bright star which shall grant

            their dream.

How foolish mankind is!

            They seek fulfillment and everlasting joy in the stars.

Their desires and wishes cloud their minds...

            For how blind they have become over Time’s slow

            passage.

True, the wondrous Night holds great power.

            This truth is self-evident and well-proved.

However, mankind need not look that far...

            All which shall fulfill them lies just before their eyes.

They walk the Earth with closed eyes...

            Thus causing them to miss true happiness.

If only they would step back and open their eyes...

            Then, and only then, their dreams may come true.

All answers mankind longs for...

            Lie within our very souls waiting to be set free.

How much longer shall mankind be blind?

            When shall tranquility overcome anguish and fear?

The key lies in our own hearts...
