Today’s World

Innocent, little child hear me.

            Listen as speak of the fall of our world.

I will each you to love all things.

            To look past the hate and find their worth.

Hate has destroyed mankind’s souls.

            Their hearts are colder than the arctic itself.

I have grown weak from fighting hatred.

            Unfortunately, we the lovers and dreamers are losing

            the war for peace.

Love is the only way to save...

            Our rapidly diminishing world.

My heart grows increasingly weary...

            From the long struggle for simple acceptance.

Mankind has forgotten how to look within...

            And find that hidden majesty in everyone and thing.

Shall our world forever exist in anguish?

            Or shall the dreamers finally be victorious.

Perhaps one day the Sun’s rays shall grace our world...

            Or perhaps appearance will mean little.

What lies within is what truly matters...

            I leave our future in your hands my child.
