The Fated I

It was a cold, dark, night. Gabrielle was walking around the forest on her own. In front of her she saw a river with a young women with long blonde hair sat next to it crying. Gabrielle quickly ran over to the girl and stood behind her. "What's wrong, why are you crying?" She asked concerned.
"It's my mother, she left me, she hates me." The girl replied still crying.
"I'm sure she doesn't hate you. Who is your mother?"
The girl turned around showing her face. Gabrielle's heart skipped a beat as she saw a younger version of herself staring back at her. "You are!"

Gabrielle woke up and quickly sat upright. She looked around and saw Kallopiea and Xena sleeping next to her. Xena opened her eyes and saw Gabrielle sat bolt upright.
"Another bad dream?" Xena asked
"I don't understand it. I can't get rid of them every night for the past week now I've had a nightmare about Hope."
Xena sat up next to Gabrielle and put her arm around her. "You've probably just got something on your mind. Don't worry I'm sure it's nothing."
"I guess." Gabrielle said unconvinced and laid back down.

Meanwhile the Archangel Michael was on a rock talking to a small army of other angels, all of them heavily armoured.
"There is no point in us trying to go back into Lokonia yet. Last time the demons took half the army. We have to wait until Xena, Gabrielle and Kallopiea get here, don't worry Raphael, they'll be here soon."

Kallopiea woke from a deep sleep, she looked around for Xena and Gabrielle but they were gone. "They must be taking a bath." She said to herself and slowly stood up. As she did so she heard a footstep a few metres to her right, slowly she took her sword from her sheath and looked to her right. A large gang of men were stood there, each with their own sword ready.
"Well hello there pretty one." One of the men said, "Can you tell us where we might find Xena and Gabrielle?"
"I could, but I wont." Kallopiea replied threateningly
"No, well I guess we're just going to have to beat it out of you then aren't we." He said and the gang began to run towards her.
Kallopiea quickly parried a strike with her sword, and then she kicked the attacker in the stomach. She turned around and cut a man in the leg then hit him in the head with the hilt of her sword. Quickly she kicked a man, who was behind her, in the knee, sending him crashing to the ground. Some of the men ran off but the one who spoke to her stayed and continued to fight. He used all his speed and strength to strike Kallopiea in the heart with his sword, but she quickly dodge to the side of him and slashed him in the stomach, killing him. She watched as he coughed up some blood before he died. Kallopiea heard someone running towards her she turned around and saw Xena and Gabrielle.
"Are you alright?" Xena asked seeing the blood covering both her and her sword.
"Fine," Kallopiea answered, "But I do not think he is." Kallopiea spun around and pointed her sword to the ground.
"Who?" Xena asked confused.
Kallopiea looked down, the body of the dead man had gone just leaving a lot of blood behind. "Xena, I killed a man. He was lying there dead just a second ago."
"Then where is he now?" Gabrielle asked.
"I do not know." Kallopiea replied frustrated.
"Maybe he wasn't quite dead and ran off." Xena suggested.
"Maybe." Kallopiea replied
"Anyhow, we heard there's trouble starting in a nearby village, two houses are at war and the villagers are scared the battle might destroy their homes. Xena and I are going to sort it out, are you coming?" Gabrielle asked
"Yes." Kallopiea replied distantly and followed Gabrielle over to the village.

It didn't take them long to get there, since the village was right next to the forest they had been sleeping in. When they did arrive they saw four men having a heated argument. Xena quickly ran over to them, with Gabrielle and Kallopiea close behind.
"But your horses ate our vegetables yesterday." Shouted an angry man with short black hair.
"Well that doesn't mean you can steal ours!" Replied a smaller, older, man furiously.
"Oh yeah!"
"Yeah!"
"Hey!" Xena shouted interrupting the argument, "What's going on here?"
"It's not your problem." The blacked haired man replied sharply
"Well I've just made it my problem."
Suddenly a woman came running out of her house over to the place where the argument was. "Xena!" She shouted as she came running over.
Xena, Gabrielle and Kallopiea turned round and saw a familiar face. They couldn't quite remember who it was though, they just knew they had seen her before. "Who are you?" Gabrielle asked
"You couldn't have forgotten me, I know it's been a long time but we had some great adventures together." The old woman replied. Xena and Gabrielle looked at each other blankly. "Oh come on, I still have your whip."
"Minya?" Xena said surprised
"See I knew you wouldn't forget me."
"How…. how have you been?" Gabrielle asked
"Fine, well you know not too bad."
"How's Hower?"
"Hower…Hower died a few years ago." Minya said sadly
"Oh, I'm sorry."
"It's OK it was a long time ago. Why don't you come in for some food, we can catch up." Minya said chirpily again.
"We'd love to."

Michael was stood in front of an army of warriors, each dressed in black clothes with a strange pattern on them in red. "The time has come, Xena, Gabrielle and Kallopiea will soon travel along the main route to Athens. You know what to do when they get there." He said with a serious look on his face.

"So when we woke up Eve had already grown up and was helping Ares." Gabrielle explained
"Ares, how is he lately?" Minya asked remember old time
"Same as ever, still up to his usual tricks." Xena said.
"But anyhow like I said Xena, this feud is nothing for you to worry about, it's just a little argument, I can handle it is anything gets out of control." Minya told them.
"Then we should leave." Kallopiea interrupted.
"Sharpe girl isn't she. I'll see you soon, hopefully." Minya added.
"We promise to visit again." Gabrielle said while standing up.

After saying their goodbyes Xena, Gabrielle and Kallopiea left the village.
"Where are we going now?" Kallopiea asked
"I think we should head to Athens. We need some things." Gabrielle suggested
"OK." Xena agreed.
After a day of travelling Xena, Gabrielle and Kallopiea decided to set up camp for the night and finish their journey in the morning.

"It was nice to see Minya again." Gabrielle stated.
"Yeah." Xena said smiling
"I thought it was a waste of time." Kallopiea interrupted.
"Of course you don't have any friends you ever miss." Xena said sarcastically.
"That is correct"
"Not even one friend?" Gabrielle asked.
"Maybe one, but only one." Kallopiea said sternly
"When you two get together I bet no one stands in your way."
"My friend and I are very, very different."
"Really! I'd thought you'd only choose friends like yourself." Gabrielle said surprised.
"I did not choose her as a friend, she just became one."
"The way all great friendships are made." Xena said smiling while looking at Gabrielle.
"Anyhow, we should sleep now if we wish to reach Athens tomorrow." Kallopiea said trying to change the subject.
"Good night." Gabrielle replied

Gabrielle cautiously walked through a dark cave, with every step she took a loud echo of her footstep rumbled around the cave. A short way ahead of her she saw a girl, staring into a huge flame. Gabrielle ran over to her, her footsteps echoing as she did. When she reached her the girl turned around. "I've been waiting for you mother." She said, in a voice the sounded very similar to Gabrielle's, only deeper.
"Hope, why are you doing this? Why are you in my nightmares?" Gabrielle said her voice almost shaking.
"Mother, you abandoned me, you tried to kill me, and you destroyed my father's hopes of entering this world!"
"And I'd do it again." Gabrielle replied her voice more powerful and threatening.
"Would you? If I gave you the chance would you do it again?" Hope asked
"What do you mean?"
"It's happening mother, can't you feel it? It's all around you. Daddy's found a new way of entering our world, and this time no one will stop him."
"This is just a dream, it's not real." Gabrielle shouted her voice echoed powerfully around the cave.
"You have one more chance, join us, join your family, and you can share our power."
"No, Xena's my family now!"

Gabrielle opened her eyes, a strike of lightning hit a nearby tree, it quickly set alight and fell to the ground. Gabrielle rolled over onto Xena to avoid begin hit by it. Then it started to pour with rain and the temperature rapidly dropped. Gabrielle rolled on to the other side of Xena and closed her eyes to try and get back to sleep.

A few hours later the sun began to rise over Greece. Gabrielle opened her eyes and saw Xena and Kallopiea already awake. She got up and walked over to them. Xena looked at her, her hair was all over her face and she had black rings around her eyes. "Rough night?" Xena asked.
"You could say that." Gabrielle replied forcing a smile.
"We're going to keep travelling towards Athens as soon as you're ready." Xena told her.
"Then let's go."
"I found a shortcut just before you woke. It's through a field to the north."
"Well then lead the way." Gabrielle said and followed Xena and Kallopiea.

After a few minutes of travelling they reached the field. "There I think we can just cut across, we should be there in no time." Xena smiled and continued to walk. Kallopiea walked slightly ahead of them, giving them the chance to talk alone. "I had another dream last night…about Hope." Gabrielle told Xena.
"What happened?"
"She told me Dahak had found a new way into the world, and they wanted me to join them."
"Gabrielle, it's just a dream, don't worry about it." Xena told her reassuringly.
"I know." Gabrielle smiled and walked up to Kallopiea. Xena watched her with a serious expression on her face, hoping what she had said was true. Xena looked back towards the way they came, she noticed they were in the centre of the field. She looked over to Gabrielle and Kallopiea, and then glanced back again. "Gabrielle, Kallopiea, come here now." Xena said seriously.
"What is it?" Gabrielle asked jogging back over to her.
"Gabrielle, do you recognise this place?" Xena asked sternly.
Gabrielle quickly looked around, "No." She replied
"I do."
Gabrielle noticed Xena's expression changed dramatically, into something she'd never seen before. Xena was afraid.
"Xena, what's wrong?" Gabrielle asked.
Suddenly from in front of them a large army of warriors approached, ridding black horses and wearing black clothes. Quickly Xena, Gabrielle and Kallopiea drew their weapons, "Xena!" Gabrielle shouted.
"They're from my vision." Xena shouted back over the noise of the horses.

When they got close enough some of the warriors jumped off their horses. Xena turned around and stabbed a man in the leg, while doing so she cut another on the arm. She looked around, Gabrielle and Kallopiea were fighting as well. Xena threw her sword to the ground and picked up her chakram, she torn it in half then started to use both sides as a weapon.

Gabrielle knocked a man out with her Sai, and then stabbed him in the heart. She spun in the air and kicked a man in the face, as she landed she hit another with both her Sais.

Kallopiea parried a strike with her sword, then kicked the attacker in the stomach, as he fell to the floor winded she decapitated him. She felt the breath of a man behind her, quickly she turned around as soon as she did she felt a sharp, potent, pain in her heart. She looked down and saw a man remove his sword from her body. Helplessly she fell to the ground, hitting her head on the way.

Gabrielle turned and saw Kallopiea's dead body, "Kallopiea!!!" She screamed. Xena spun around, just in time to see a man grab Gabrielle's shoulder then pierce the skin of her throat with his sword, the blood flowed from her neck and went over three men standing near her. The attacker let her go and Xena watched as Gabrielle fell to the ground…dead. Xena dropped her chakram at the sight of her soul mates death. She started to feel nauseous and her legs felt weak. She turned around, hearing the sound of an approaching horse, slowly she watched as a mace came straight at her. It hit Xena hard on the head, the impact sent her falling backwards, and suddenly her vision went black.

Michael was waiting impatiently, pacing up and down on a cliff. Quickly an archangel ran over to him. "Well." Michael said sternly.
"The warriors succeeded, Xena, Gabrielle and their friend are dead." The archangel explained.
"Good, are they here?"
"Not yet, but don't worry their souls are safe, The Dark One didn't have time to get to them. They should be here soon."
