Lucy is the fifth of seven children. She first got envolved in acting and singing in school musicals and plays. She studied opera for a long time (though her real love is for jazz)and attended Auckland University for a short time. When she returned , she worked in a gold-mining camp located in Australia, where she met Garth Lawless, her high-school sweetheart. They then returned to Auckland and had a little girl named Daisy. They eventually got divorced in 1995, but now she is married to Robert Tapert and expecting her second child in October 1999!
