| Ephiny dismounts her steed and cautiously approaches Xena. "I don't see any reason for you to be upset. Could you shed some light on this situation please." Xena does'nt bother to answer her. She leans against a nearby tree and takes out her dagger, flipping it repeatedly and then catching it. "Do you have anything you want to tell me about or are we going to continue to play this game of yours?" Annoyed at Ephiny's bold statement Xena grabbed her by the shirt and lifted her up forcefully. "Fine, your getting joined woo hoo! Do not act holyer than thou because of it. What is it you want me to say?" Ephiny manages to pull herself free from Xena's grasp and steps back a little. "Xena, I want you to admit that you love Gabrielle." She could'nt believe she said it but she had to do something to get the ball rolling. "Excuse me? What did you just say to me?" Xena thinks to herself She has a lot of nerve. Look, she is even wearing Gabrielle's clothes. I am going to kill her! No...try not to loose it. Boy Gabrielle didn't waste any time with her. It's my own fault. "You heard me. I think that you are in love with Gabrielle but too chicken to admit it. Why is that Xena? You certainly are not known for lacking the courage to do something. So why is it so hard for you. Maybe I am taking a longshot with this one but I think that I am right and I will not leave until we settle this matter. So what's your answer?" For the first time in her entire life, Xena did not know what to say. She struggled with her thoughts for a moment. Why would she want to know that, she's the one joining with her? Should you tell her? It's none of her business but what difference does it make if she knows. What if she tells Gabrielle? Maybe that would be a good thing. Gabrielle may even be interested in me and call off their ceremony. But then how would I change my ways and give her the love she deserves. Well, i'll worry about that when the time comes, if the time comes. Anyway, there is only one way to find out for sure what will happen. "Why dont I humor you. Yes, I am completely in love with her. She is the light in my life, my only link to sanity. I am but half a woman without her. Doe's that help you at all?" Although Xena spoke those words with a sarcastic tone, Ephiny could see deep within Xena's normally guarded eyes, and what she saw was the truth. "Yes, but more importantly it helps you. There is something you should know. I am joining with the queen today." "I already know that. Doe's it get you off to rub it in cause you seem to enjoy it." "Xena, I will ignore that last statement and continue. I am joining with the queen, our elected acting queen Shariah, not Gabrielle." Xena was very pissed off. She just exposed her true feeling's without even needing to. Now Gabrielle would know the truth. Cant count on Ephiny staying out of it and keeping her mouth shut. Not miss intervention. What is she going to think? Gabrielle's gonna freak. " I don't suppose you wanna keep this between you and I?" "No Xena, you have kept this secret long enough. It is time for you to tell Gabrielle how you really feel. She has a right to know. I'm gonna let you tell her. Of course I have to give you a deadline, just to make sure it gets done. Nothing personal. You have until mid-afternoon to tell her or I will. I'm sorry but it's the right thing to do and I think it should be you who tells her. Goodbye Xena." Ephiny then mount's her horse and heads back towards the village very pleased with her discovery. She wont even have to continue with her previous plan now. |
