Starting the climb into the front range of the Rockies, looking back east towards Denver (that flatish thing in the center)
In late September of 2000 I travelled by train for 3 days from Lincoln, Nebraska to Glendale,CA. It was a long journey, made even longer by our train falling 7 hours behind schedule. I enjoyed seeing all this new scenery and took alot of pics, most didn't turn out tho.
Also missed most of the scenic views in the high Rockies, views of the deep gorges and rugged waterfalls. Because of the schedule delay we passed these areas in the middle of the night. :-( Amtrak apologized by refunding the entire fare for anyone that complained, which of course I did. *g*
For what I did get to see, I liked the mountains of Colorado best :-)

...the pictures end just before Reno, Nevada because passengers with destinations in So. California were transferred to private busses and sent to Stockton, CA. to try and intercept our connecting train. We made it! We went from 7 hours behind to 7 minutes to spare...what a bus driver! :-)
