Now if you read about "My Home" you'll certainly know how different my life has become.
The house I live in has got 1 kitchen, 0 living rooms, 0 guest rooms, 1 bathroom, 0 offices, 0 theater rooms, 5 bedrooms, 0 maid rooms and 0 GYM rooms, 7 rooms in total, 1 TV in the kitchen, and three 5.1 theatrical sound systems (yes, three) while the other 2 rooms got 2.1 systems, total of 5 subwoofers in da house, pretty neat eh. I still don't know why I call this place a house, since its more like the size of 2 living rooms divided into 7 rooms, I guess English people don't like big houses.
All houses here are fitted with boilers, at least the humidify here is normal, summer gets to 23c and winter reaches -3c, and since I came from a hot country you can imagine how cold I was when I first came here, however, I like the cold weather, probably because I got sick of the heat back there.
After a year and a half living here I got used to the weather.
When I first came here the first thing I wanted to do is checking my computer, but I didn't get a screwdriver with me, so, I used a fork to open it up, check if all the pieces weren't damaged from the airplanes.
After an hour passed I began to feel a bit drunk-like, then I realized half my brain was frozen, we were told that our landlord will come around at 5 PM, and it was 3 hours away... Waited and waited until he knocked, he came in and he told us "Look here, that's the main boiler control, you just turn this switch to ON and everything will be ok" we were all quite half dead frozen while he was laughing because it was still September and it wasn't cold, to him at least.
Day after day passes, 2 months gone ahead and we didn't even feel time move so fast... After three months we learned the roads and the shops and we started very much more to feel at home.
Student life isn't hard, all you have to do is just put some mind and thought when you're doing something, when we first came we were only buying the cheapest things we could find because we were worried that about the cost of the bills and other things, and when we think about those days we laugh.
But I have to admit that I love the life here, we got 5 computers all linked by network, and we got a nice, cheap and reliable 512 Kbps ADSL connection shared across the network, so they can all talk to their families back at home at anytime they wanted to, voice and video chatting just as if they were there.
Oh, let me tell you about my flatmates:
- Yousif
A soccer addict, crazy about FC Barcelona, heck he's so addicted he's even learning Spanish for its sake. He's from the same country as mine, actually he's our next door neighbor back there. Loves to play soccer games such as ISS and Pro Evolution Soccer and the likes. His room... well, like most students' rooms are. Quite the social type of persons that like to go out and around town.
- Mahmood
Studied at an industrial school back there, he knows quite a damn lot about cars and such, spends most of his time in front of the computer (like everyone does) chatting with friends and family, since most his friends have Internet at their homes. And like all of us, he seems to love this place i.e. Wales and the UK. His room is exceptionally clean and tidy, good job. He's quite a funny person in a way, and he's known as an attractive person both here in the UK and back at Bahrain.
- Ebrahim
Chef of da house, when we want a meal to celebrate he's the head of the crew. Quite a tall person, the tallest around, I don't know much about his hobbies, he's quite a smart person though. His room is quite a nice and tidy one.
- Tim
He's the only one among us who's English, he was quite a very shy and silent person, and he still is. But not as much as before, he's the type that plays the games I like, and we've had some nice deathmatches with the rest of my flatmates, although they all team up I always win ^.^ .. His room is quite exceptional, since he goes to some military training activities and such, clothes are everywhere like landmines are, but all around his room is still better and cleaner than mine at least twice as much, lets just hope neither him or his parents see this webpage. He has quite a cheerful character and he's a very good person, almost the perfect type of character, although I didn't see any downsides in him yet still nobody is perfect.
So, these are the people that I live with, we haven't decided who's the leader yet but it just smells like its me since I handle all the bills and most of the decisions around. You may want to comment on that, vote for me!
