I forgot to visit you again.
Only nine months has passed
Making it impossible to believe you are gone.
It's amazing how a family ritual can bring memories.
Memories that crash into your existence.
Reminding you of death.

You weren't outside smoking.
"Hey Krissy" wasn't the greeting...
That greeting that I've come so accustomed to hearing.
And I emptied my plate into the garbage
Not into your plate... I miss that.
So now I remember why you didn't show...
And I remembered to visit.
But it's still impossible to believe you are gone.
