Does it matter which direction I wind the knots?

Cord used to make rosaries that is made of twisted fibers has ridges and grooves running around the cord in a helix. I call cord "right handed" if the ridges and groves go up towards the right when the cord is held vertically. Similarly, I call a knot "right handed" if the coils of the knot wrapped around the knotting tool go up and to the right when the knotting tool is held vertically. I have found that with right handed cord, right handed knots are much easier to make and also to untie. The picture below shows right handed cord and a right handed knot.
