Some positive impacts the computer has had on society, are the quickened ability to gain information. As mentioned before, we no longer need to wait a long period of time before being able to find information with the WWW. But the computer itself, allows us to store bountiful amounts of information. Like perhaps assignments for schoolwork, or being able to process taxes and the like.

It also serves for entertainment. We can now play games and occupy ourselves with a hobby when desired, without complaint (ok maybe there is complaint). It serves to entertain the children of our society.

It can also be an outlet of communication. If a phone call is too much, we can now use instant messengers or email to talk to one another in a fast way. There are endless solutions to the use of the computer for good.
