Title:                                                   Laptop Power Protection

Description:

Laptop anti-theft device

Objectives:

To create a no-password type lock on laptop startup by using a remote token for entry

To make it more difficult for the information on a stolen laptop to be used

Specifications:

Remote token – small enough to be on a keychain or disguised as some other object such as a pen or watch with wireless communication to Base

Base system on simulated laptop (same power supply/power usage)

Requires initial contact of token to start computer and initialize code data

Continuous code check that token is still within range

Alert mode – user disappears suddenly, about 1-2 min. shut-off window

Standby mode – User slowly disappears, about 10-15 min. shut-off window
