Q. What are xlubi?
Terms and definitions;
Firstly I have to apologise to our more delicate xlubi's for the overtly or overly Jewish feel of the site, it is something that is temporary and I hope to eventually create a more user friendly site that people who don't wish to even think or see anything to do with Judaism or Chabad-Lubavitch don't have to.
The reason why I've decided to call this site xlubi.com, instead of Exlubi.com, lubix.com (which is taken) LubavitcherX.com or exlubavitcher.com is because I wanted to include everyone who doesn't feel, they fit the 'Chabad-Lubavitch' mould, so people who are Frum or Fry or otherwise, who are Lubavitch or who were Lubavitch. This includes the X generation Lubavitchers as well as the completely secular, anti frum ex-Lubavitchers, those who love and those who hate, and everyone in between:
Jew, Gentile, Convert, BT, FFB,
Neo-Chabad, (hey!)
Modern-Chabad (cool?),
Chabach - (Chabad/Breslov/Carlabach) (grooving),
Feminist-Chabad (Right On Sister!)
Rastafarian-Chabad (mmm feeling Iree! On Utica)
Noachide-Chabad (yes he does look like Farther Xmass),
Apocalyptic-Chabad (the End is Near!)
Shabbatian-Chabad, (long time no see),
Frankist-Chabad (enjoy!),
Zen-Buddhist-Chabad (Ommm…),
Sufi-Chabad (Salem Alekum),
Hare Krishna-Chabad (did you say 'hurry…Krias Shema!?')
Christian-Chabad (yes there's gonna be a 3rd coming),
Theosophist-Chabad (Yes he was the W T),
Gnostic-Chabad (yer Tanya's Great?)
Pagan-Chabad (but its not erev Yom Kippur!)
Litvish-Chabad, (like the Alter Rebbe?)
Moony-Chabad (yes he was the Messiah)
Marxist-Chabad (are you Russian?)
Zionist-Chabad (yes the Land of Israel is important),
Hedonist-Chabad (yes Atzmus is expressed in physicality),
Freudian-Chabad (yes Freud was nothing before he met the Rebbe Rashab),
Frommian-Chabad (yer he got it from Reb Zalman Baruch Rabinkov),
Jungian-Chabad (the union of Malkut & Tifferet),
Agnostic-Chabad, (I don't know either)
Secular-Chabad, (is that Friends of Chabad?)
Existentialist-Chabad (I know HVYH= Existence),
Atheistic-Chabad (who ever said God Existed?)
or whatever.
The reason why I haven't called it xchabad.com is because the term 'Chabad' mainly implies the philosophy, and the term 'Chabadnick' is very Israeli and really gets on my nerves, whereas the term 'Lubavitch' implies community and people, ('lubi' a friendly nick name,) so it seemed appropriate to call a website for the worldwide community of X-Lubavitchers xlubi.com
But if you don't like the name or what it implies then go ahead and create your own!
But make sure you send me a link!
For those of us that take offence to the idea of defining oneself in opposition to something else, like X/Lubavitch for example, I am open to suggestions.
