When participating in Camarilla events or playing your persona, keep in mind that it is only fantasy. The Camarilla does not recognize that vampires, werewolves and the like are real. Furthermore, the club discourages members from playing their personas at chapter functions when it is a non-persona (OOC) event. It could offend other members, not to mention cause confusion for passersby.
*Be courteous and cordial, solve
problems. Don't create problems.
*Compliment others and be constructive
in criticism.
*Have fun, and help other members
to have fun.
*Physical contact is not allowed,
save for socially acceptable contact between agreeing parties.
Live Action Role Playing is talking, not fighting. Consensual
contact (such as a hand shake) is acceptable but non-consensual
contact is grounds for discliplinary action and even expulsion.
*Members may not carry any instrument
that may be construed as being a dangerous weapon while participating
in a Camarilla event. No props can be used if they must touch
another person to be effective. No real or toy weapons of any
sort can ever be handled at any time during live storytelling.
in the dark, toy guns look much the same as real guns.
*Whenever possible, play inside
a house or private area. Make sure that anyone else in the area
understands what you are doing. Doing live storytelling at conventions
is fine, but obtain permission from the convention committee beforehand.
Wear badges identifying the group that are distinguishable from
those worn by other convention attendees.
*Play with discretion. Do not take
actions that can be easily misinterpreted, especially when playing
in puyblic.
*Never perform live storytelling
when people may be confused or frightened by your actions or the
actions of your group. Restrict your use of hand signals and gestures
in public. Many of the simplest gestures are used in gang subcultures,
and although our suplemental rules offer alternative gestures,
it only
takes one bad misunderstanding to create problems.
*Know when to stop: when a storyteller,
narrator or any member calls for a time out, all in-character
(IC) actions must stop. Emotions can run high during a game, and
it is the responsibility of everyone involved to be able to stop
before play gets out of hand. Any member may call a time out for
safety reasons.
*Members will be honest in their dealings with others and with
information submitted to the organization.
*Members may not drink blood or discuss the reality of drinking
blood while participating in a Camarilla event.
*Members will not, in reality, threaten others while participating
in a Camarilla event.
*Members will not, in reality, promote or denigrate personal,
political or religious views while participating in a Camarilla
event.
*Members will be courteous and respectful, and not spread false
or derogatory information about other members.
*Members will not cause or participate in any illegal activity
as defined by State, Provincial or Federall laws while participating
in a Camarilla event.
For the purpose of Out of Character (OOC) communications via
e-mail, Maledorium was added to Yahoo! Groups. It is a private
list, which focuses on the Camarilla and Anarch venues. It exists
solely for the individuals who wish to be affiliated with the
Camarilla Chapter Maledorium. Chapter membership is defines as
those members of the Camarilla who are currently affiliated with
the Maledorium Chapter, pending members who are awaiting arrival
of their membership cards and recruits, who have not yet made
the decision to join the chapter but are considering it. All other
individuals who wish to be a part of Maledorium's e-mail list
at Yahoo! Groups are to submit an e-mail stating their interest
in being a subscribed user to nexuscrawler@juno.com along
with
the following information.
Name (first and last)
Camarilla Membership Number or Status (including Pending or Recruit)
Chapter Affiliation (name of Chapter, Indepentent or None)
Chapter Coordinator's Name
Chapter Coordinator's Contact Info
During the monthly Chapter meeting, these e-mails will be reviewed by those members present. Approval to be allowed access to Maledorium's e-mail list will then be determined by a majority vote.
Guidelines for posting messages on the list:
*This list is primarily for Out of Character (OOC) communications.
Limited In Character (IC) posts will be tolerated, but only as
long as Maledorium's Storytelling Team does not have any issues
with the content of any IC post made in the list. The Chapter
Storytelling Team of Maledorium reserves the right to desanction
any IC messages posted to Maledorium's e-mail list if they are
deemed to be inappropriate, regardless of the sender's Chapter
affiliation.
*Only the officers of the Maledorium Chapter may post announcements
on the lists. For example, the city has two Chapters (A and B).
If Chapter A is running a blood drive, they should only announce
this event on their list. They should then forward the announcement
to the officers of Chapter B
requesting that the announcement be posted on their list as well.
*When posting on the e-mail list (Maledorium@yahoogroups.com),
do not use profanity or lewd refferences. If in doubt, remember
the twenty-four hour rule and always remember that in no way should
your message violate the Camarilla's Code of Conduct which reads:
*Members will not participate in Camarilla events while under
the influence of alcohol or mind-altering substances.
*Members will not misrepresent the Camarilla or White Wolf Publishing,
Inc. or their intent at any time.
