Watching, always watching;
Waiting and watching
Staring at the door,
Awaiting its opening.
I stand and step toward it.
NO!! WAIT FOR THE RIGHT TIME!!
A voice from all around me.
I return to my seat, shaking.
Fear, horrible fear
Surging through my veins,
My heart beating like a bass drum.
Watching, waiting.
The doorknob turns
Slowly, anxiety and fear
A crack, agonizing pain!
The door opens
I slide out.
Behold, a beautiful new baby!
