I HATE POKEMON!

the obsession of children, pokemon has become the most pathetic excuse for a money-making scam ever thought up. when the japanese lost world war ii, they decided to forget taking over america by force and instead to buy us out. i have nothing against the japanese or anyone of that ethnic origin. i only dislike the way the current wave of japanese style animation is overtaking the american styles. pokemon is a huge part of that problem. even more, there is the fact that no one above 30 years of age, who has kids, pronounces the word pokemon correctly. they call it pokemAn, and even though i hate it and call it PUKE-E-MOON, it annoys even me when i hear it incorrectly pronounced. nintendo corporation has made billions of dollars on the games alone, not to mention the rights to toys and the cards.

POKEMON CARDS
the cards are a major money making scheme, as is all of the merchandise associated with the word pokemon. they are cheap slips of colored paper that sell at over 350% of production cost. of course, when you off-set the theft-to-buying ratio of how children collect them, you find the reason why they need to sell at such a high profit margin. working in a discount retail chain that sells pokemon merchandise, i tend to hear the word an average of fifty times a day, even after the initial wave of fanaticism has passed... i also tend to find an average of five-hundred dollar's worth of empty card and toy packages per week. this pisses me off more than anything about these products. the kids just pocket the damn things and trade them off for sometimes hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars. definately a money making scam.

POKEMON TOYS/GAMES
the toys and nintendo games are cheaply produced and over-expensive. the stuffed animals are ugly and pathetic. I really hate the shit they throw at us in the commercials. the nintendo games, from the piece-of-shit pokemon snap to the over-advertised and under-produced pokemon arena, are just rip offs of a fantastic gaming series: Dragon Warrior. Dragon Warrior is a fantastic game and has become eclipsed by the freak phenomenon of pokemon. they push this shit down children's throats to the point that the children cry and have seizures when they cannot get them immediately. the parents are worse. they stand there and demand that they get the game when, in our retail outlet, we had set up a waiting list that you must get on the week before it becomes available in order to get the game. fuck pokemon!

POKEMON ANIMATION
the animation is bullshit. first of all there is the song that sends blatant and subliminal messages into the viewers' heads. "gotta catch 'em all" is a direct command to the children to collect every pokemon card, game, and toy out there. then there's the quality of the animation. they use shortcuts instead of producing quality. when a character is talking, they show a still shot of that character with cheap puppet-like mouth animation. of course, this helps in the voice-over from japanese to english and any other language. However, this style has become much more common in animation lately. More and more great series of cartoons are becoming cheaply made in this fashion. pokemon is destroying all that was once great in this world.

the most annoying thing about the american obsession with pokemon is that when the animated series was shown in japan, it caused seizures in small children. then they brought it to america and now even the religious leaders are saying it is evil and satanic. of course, anything that gets children to believe in something other than the biblical quotations is considered evil. though not religious, i sometimes agree with the sentement that pokemon should be removed from the mainstream of american society. it is a money-making scam by the japanese to buy out our children's minds and souls in order to take over america. america is no longer america - it is POKE_JAPANICA!!! - bought out by japan like the colonial settlers bought america with beads and diseases that wiped out most of the natives. damn i hate this shit!
