South Africa's stint at the top of the XODI rankings was short-lived as Australia' commanding victory in the final of the World Cup saw them surge back to the number one position. South Africa drop to second just ahead of World Cup runners up Sri Lanka. Ireland continued to inch their way up the ladder after their victory over Bangladesh and are now within striking distance of Zimbabwe and Kenya.
The other major tournament this quarter was the World Cricket League Division 3 tournament in Australia. This is part of qualification for the 2011 World Cup and it saw Uganda emerge victorious over surprise packets Argentina in the final. The win didn't see the Ugandans move up the table at all although there was some movement from other teams, most motably Argentina who climbed seven places to 31st. A poor showing from Fiji saw it slide seven places although it managed to stay just ahead of Argentina in 30th spot.
