Untitled

When I was sad you gave me flowers
But my sadness made then brown.
You talked with me for hours and hours,
You invited me over but I turned you down.
You lit up the room but I turned the light off.
I said I was weak so you made me tough.
But after some time, you only made me scoff.
I've lied to you and I've lied enough.
You helped me learn, yet I've gained no wealth.
I tried to be you but still ended up as myself.
