Your Comments: Just came across this site while rooting round for spoilers about how Mulder is being written out of XF :( I will miss David immensely in Season 9 as I have always believed The X Files success with me has based on Mulder and Scully's interaction. And although I am trying to go into Season 9 with an open mind I know that without Mulder The X Files with never hold the same interest :| Love Carey x

Your Comments: Very Savvy Site and reflects my beliefs in what the X Files was about. My Views on Season 8 were mixed I missed 6-8 episodes, as my interest dropped lower than i care to mention. David has played an amazing role an incredible performance, that no-one could have ever achieved, apart from a cloned DD. Without Mulder the show will hold little or no interest that is the forthcoming Season 9, I doubt it will ever be the same. They should have ended the series with another Film and then call it a day. Keep up the good work and lets all hope that Season 9 is a short one!!!

Your Comments:Nice page, I can't still believe they are going to do another season! the 8th season was bad enough and their ratings are going down. They no longer show X-Files on national TV because of the rating and now they decide to continue WITHOUT Mulder/Duchovny it's insane!!!

Your Comments:I understand, fully well, David`s desire to exit the show. It would have been interesting to see how Mulder and Scully relate to each other in and out of job, with the arrival of the baby. I have watched the two characters from the beginning and i,must, admit that i was thrilled beyond belief that their relationship blossomed. Never did i imagine that there would be romance in the middle of a mission.I think CC owes us. Without us, there would have been be no X-FILES.There should be a continuation of Mulder and Scully and the baby in Season 9. Dogget should not even be in the picture.

Your Comments:I feel the same way. I may not like David the person...but the part of him that created the Mulder we all know and love...I love. I miss the "Mulderisms" the dry wit, the humor...the intelligence that gave a step up to "sci-fi" TV. I have been a fan since the end of the 2nd season. Then, I was HOOKED...and an offical Phile. Sad to say, that my mental list of episode titles and fanfiction reading and episode collecting has gone to the wayside because of real life...but now that I have the time...I would like to have an hour a week to watch MULDER AND SCULLY again...but we all know that isn't the case. Doggett is an interesting character...but he's NO MULDER. I don't think that we'll ever see Mulder again, unless David decides that his movie career isn't going so well...and that he'd like to come back. Until that happens...(hell freezing over...LOL) that's when I'll be fully dedicated to the show as it is now...and watch this past season...and was touched by the episodes in which Mulder was featured (which was practically none...by David's choice, remember...it wasn't all FS, CC and the other writers choice...) it was a weird season...even for a series about conspiracy and the paranormal. I've been watching for 6 years... but I'll watch for Gillian... it'll be hard. I miss "Mulder and Scully" "Moose and Squirrel" "G-Woman and G-Man"...::sigh:: My banner will be posted on my homepage...where I DID have an XFiles site that was too hard to keep up with. I'm glad that you guys have come together to put something together to support such a cause. Thank you. : )

Your Comments:I feel that David Duchovny has this great talent for acting. I am really mad how Chris Carter feels that "Doggett" is a success. I am not saying it is a total failure either. I feel that it is useless to watch the "The X-Files" when Mulder is out. Since this upcoming season is Gillian's last, then there is just absolutely no reason to continue the series.

Your Comments:Since Mulder has left the X-Files, the "umph" and the energy that he brought to the show has slowly drained out leaving the show almost lifeless. Bringing him back to tease the audience? If he's going to leave, make sure it's final, finished and respectful.

Your Comments:I have watched the X-Files from the beginning, I have been a fan from day one. To think we would accept this season's finale as the end of Mulder's part in the show is a slap in the face. I understand Mr. Duchovney's desire to move on. However, there was enough time in this season to give us, the fans, something we could live with, an ending we could accept. I would have no problem with the show continuing with the characters of Doggett and Reyes in the main chairs, but never think they will replace our beloved Mulder and Scully. If there is to be closure in another movie (or 2 or 10), I could even accept that. But for Mulder and Scully to finally be able to accept their feelings, and to even give Mulder a true, loving family and then just write him off. This I can't accept. I would like to add a few words to CC & Co's vocabulary. Respect: to have deferential regard for, esteem, a high regard for and appreciation of worth. Dignity: pride or self-respect Loyalty: allegiance, fidelity And now another new word, which would best describe the season 9 as it has been represented to us; Disinterest: lacking interest, uninterested.

Your Comments:Mulder was once the axis around which the entire show rotated. With his abduction in this last season, we have seen Scully assume that same pivotal point - and now the axis is again shifting. The x-files revolve around its agents, whoever they may be, and so too, does the show. However, without Mulder's influence, would we still be watching this show today? I doubt it.

Your Comments:TOO RIGHT!! The writers drop David, we drop the show! Those stupid gits at 1013 will soon realise that without Mulder the shows popularity will drop, and us devoted David fans will be left at the cinema for weeks on end watching Evolution over and over. And anyways, what is the x files? Is it not the search for Mulders truth? How can the fiels be x fiels without Mulder? It can't because its not fricking possible. Ever heard the saying "The show must go on"? Forget it, without David, The X files is as good as dead and buried... A very frickking upset Chelsey Mulder

Your Comments:FOX and 1013 had to check their plans: Everything is pointing to ruin the show: Robert Patrick is a good actor but doesn't have what is needed to replace Mulder, Miss Gish as Agent Reyes is dull and predictable, and the new though male character they are bringing on new season never, never will sound or look like HIM, and the worst of all: Gillian Anderson hangin on there, alone looking for her lost half. The X Files is Mulder's Quest and the beautiful MSR. Think again, guys. Bring Mulder or cancel the show with dignity.

Your Comments:Hearing that a Season Nine Minus Mulder (Save for some "Cameos") is going to take place makes my stomach turn. Apparantly Chris Carter cares less about the actual integrity of the show and more about the wallet in his pocket. I'm curious if even Chris himself knows the ending to the X-Files? Why draw it out so long? Season 8 should never have happened.. it did, and I admit that it came out decent (near the end, when Mulder came back that is).... but a Season 9 is ridiculous. The eighth should've been the Series Finale, and the end should've been created in a second X-Files Movie. The End. No more X-Files. There's nothing intriguing left about the X-Files story except for the ending.. please Chris, let the X-Files finish with dignity.

Your Comments:I am angry at the media's insistence on saying that Robert Patrick "scored well with viewers" (most recently in David's interview on MrShowbiz.com). He did NOT. I have nothing against Mr. Patrick, but to say he replaced David and that Fox "hit a home run" with the character of Doggett is flat-out false. A lot of people don't care about Doggett, or outright dislike him. A LOT. It angers me to see the misinformation that keeps getting perpetuated, such as the idea that the ratings were up this past (Mulder-less) season. The ratings were NOT up, and the season was far from "Mulder-less." In fact, the highest ratings were for episodes that featured Mulder! I will miss David, but I don't blame him for wanting to desert this sinking ship, especially considering that his character has been treated with so little respect, especially of late. He, however, has been really respectful of the show despite the media's efforts to get him to say something bad. Godspeed, David.

Plus, what's gonna happend with mulder's and scully's relationship? they were last seen kissing if i'm not mistaken. those characters need to finally get hooked up together. it's what i think everyone has been waiting for. so you can't kick off Agent mulder. Your Comments:Sadly, I discovered the X-files only two years ago. Luckily, I have been able to play catch-up by faithfully watching and taping all the re-runs, and renting all the videos. Grateful that I found Mr. Duchovny and his intriguing, humorous, and beloved Mulder character. Mulder is truly the only TV personality that I enjoy or identify with. What a role model for ourselves and our children. To "believe" in something... anything... and to faithfully and with bold courage fight for "your belief". No matter what others believe. No matter how hard people try to convince you... You are wrong. For me, It is NOT about believing in aliens. It is simply just about "believing"... "Believing" in in yourself!! I have had so much fun getting to know Mr. Duchovny character. I am so disappointed that I finally found a show that myself and my generation could call our own. Unfortunatly, they are taking away the one character that gives us all hope in "believing". Thank you Mr. Duchovny for giving us the years of an unwavering and faithful Mulder. I pray that you succeed in shaping your future characters, the way you did Mulder. I look forward to fallowing your long career. Thank you for giving us all something to "believe" in. Your Comments:Great site, wish I'd found it at 8's beginning instead of the end. All season long I've been crossing my fingers with one hand (hoping for character/mytharc continuity)and holding my nose with the other (reality bites, huh?)as each ep was shown. Most of this stuff was slimier than a sewer fluke. CGBS and his elaborate conspiracies couldn't kill off the heart and soul of the XF in seven years, but CC did so in a matter of months with just a few strokes of a poison pen. His treachery makes Krycek looks like an altar boy (gonna miss ol' ratboy, at least you could respect him for being upfront about his ratness). Mulder rules, CC drools!!

Your Comments:So this is it. After eight years of chasing shadowy conspiracies and searching for long-lost sisters, of growing trust and friendship, after tales of hybridization and in-vitro fertilization, of abduction, death and resurrection, of estrangement and apparent reconciliation, a cute little baby and a chaste lovers' kiss now mark the end of an era. One simple, soap-operatic cliché will cancel out even the most glaring inconsistencies of season eight, let alone the last eight years? Well. I suppose it will. It will have to. Even though nothing has been concluded, nothing has been conceded. Everything's still up for grabs in season nine. Except Mulder. Which is a rather bittersweet predicament to contemplate: there is a tremendous sense of relief, obviously, that the long, cruel torture of season eight is over, but there is also considerable sadness at the prospect of a Mulder-less future and - even more saddening - a Mulder-less X Files that continues to plough on as if nothing had changed. The X Files, by his own admission, have been Mulder's "life's work". Strangely enough, though, after eight years, his life or death, presence or absence do not seem to make much difference to any of the remaining characters, or the show that was supposedly chronicling his romantic journey towards that one Truth with a capital T - his life-long quixotic quest that we all knew would come to an end once that Truth would be found. Well. The quest is undeniably over. But what about 'The Truth'? And what about The X Files? Of course there has been the customary passing-of-the-torch rhetoric, and what is a child if not a symbol for a new beginning (to say nothing of the painfully contrived Bible references)? However, a new beginning presupposes an ending of sorts, a coming to terms. Unfortunately, that sense of impending *closure* has been completely absent from season eight, which, even in its final stages, still refused to stir from its unvaried pattern of manly men and morbid monsters, and which gave us helpless token gestures instead of genuine continuity. Maybe I could be more content if it really were the series' final image. Mulder and Scully used to be synonymous with The X Files. Obviously, that is no longer the case, and it undermines the intended finality of the image. We *know* the show will continue in the autumn, even though significant… components will be missing. Which is not to say I am dissatisfied with the image per se. What I resent is that it does not represent the natural outcome of developments we have witnessed. It is superimposed on the unfinished business that is seven years of television history. Business that, no doubt, shall remain unfinished forever. I do not resent that either. I do, however, object to the blatantly dishonest, manipulative use of this faux finale, which threatens to reduce these two unique characters to little more than prime time stereotypes.

Your Comments:I am so upset that Mulder is not going to be in season 9. It is not going to be the same without him. I'm wondering how he is going to leave, now that it seems Scully, baby, and he are a little family now. What is he going to do, be talked about, but never seen? Cameo appearances of him just to keep us placated? I don't like it. He needs to come back full force, at least for this last year(?)For the baby's sake. For his fans sake. But then again, it's David's life. We wouldn't want him telling us what to do with our lives, right?

Your Comments:Please give us who have been watching from day one, closure on S/M. Thank you for Existence, as I have been waiting for that moment for eight years, and I have enjoyed every minute. However, please do not let the story between M/S end here, let us know that it lives on. Best of luck to everybody in Season Nine.

Your Comments:I will definately miss David Duchovney as Agent Fox Mulder. The X-files revolved around Agent Mulder. The whole show was about him finding the truth and now I am saddened that he will be leaving the show. I wish him the best.

The net result is that we have a show that now walks through the motions of real character interaction and development. Mulder's return seems to hold little resonance for his partner and best friends. The progress of Scully's pregnancy has developed into perhaps the most irritating tease known to mankind. (tm) Mulder has willingly handed over his life work to a man he hardly knows. He willingly hands over the woman he loves to a man who has killed members of both their families, and who admits to wanting her baby killed. Scully refuses to share any details of her pregnancy with her partner, friends and family (in a laughable attempt on the writers' part to show her as independent) yet allows the men in her life to pass her around like a piece of furniture.

This Sunday, CC and Company have exactly 42 minutes to close the book on the journey these characters and their fans have undertaken for 8 years. It's too bad that they've mucked things up so badly. David Duchovny's return breathed some badly needed life into the show these past few episodes, but it was too little, too late. His absence proved how important Mulder's character was, and how we had come to rely on his very human reactions to make even the most absurd storylines work. By the time Mulder came back to life (another example of poor writing - but don't get me started!) the damage was done.

When I think of the mytharc and the potential for the characters - yes - even after Mulder's abduction at the end of Season 7, I want to cry. No one is treated with dignity on this show anymore - not even the monsters, and least of all the audience.

The only bright spot in all this is that David has exercised his right to retain his dignity, and walk away with his head held high. We can only wish that the other players had shown the same resolve.

This Sunday will mark the last time I watch a first-run X-Files episode. As far as I'm concerned, the show I loved and respected no longer exists.

At this point, my only hope is that FOX and 1013 will have the courtesy to acknowledge David's contribution to the show's success - but I'm not optimistic given their past m.o.

I'll remember the very unique character that was Fox Mulder, and I'll always be thankful to David for giving him to us through his acting, writing and directing. Mulder can live on in videotapes, DVDs, fanfic and our memories. I was and always will be proud to call myself a Fox Mulder/David Duchovny fan.

Your Comments:

In reading the news today that Fox has decided to renew the X-Files, and that David has elected to "move on with his life," my feelings are a mixture of anger, frustration, and great relief.

I'm angry at the greed and lack of vision that encourages the return of the show. Season 8 proved beyond a doubt that the creative impetus behind the show is dead. The lack of compelling stories, the complete bastardization of well-loved characters, the clumsy attempt to make a new character the main focus, and the unforgivable treatment of the show's "centre" all combined to show us the show's new truth: that it should have ended last season. Worse was Chris Carter and Company's cavalier lack of respect for the fanbase that made the show a hit, and for the characters that they themselves created.

I'm frustrated because it didn't have to happen. Once upon a time we had a show that challenged viewers and invited conjecture on the world we thought we knew. Once upon a time we had a partnership that was unique for its respect, commitment, intellectualism, and lack of gender stereotypes. Smart WAS Sexy. We were given a man who wasn't afraid to devote his whole life to one quest, and a woman who made the adult decision to support him (while not always agreeing with his methods) because it was the right thing to do. As they grew closer, shared their losses, and faced increasingly difficult challenges, we followed them, because they made us care. Along the way we met other characters, some good, some bad, but all fascinating in their own ways. We laughed, cried, and flinched in horror right along with them. And their fame spread - to the point that even people who didn't watch the show recognized the names "Mulder and Scully."

This season, we were treated to an "absent centre" who was conveniently forgotten by his partner and best friends. We were asked to accept a revisionist view of his character and family history. We witnessed the metamorphosis of a once fearless, bright and loyal woman into a parody of a crying, bitchy, helpless, illogical female - one wholly unrecognizable from her early years. We were introduced to CC's vision of a real "man" - one who expressed disdain and lack of understanding for new ideas, and whose off time seemed to be spent watching car races on TV and cleaning his gun. With no character development, sense of wonder and even less chemistry with his new partner, the viewers were expected to accept him as a worthy new lead. Worst of all, we were asked to believe that a professional woman, aware of impending alien invasion, would suddenly decide she needed to be a mother (because that's what "women do"), ask her partner for his sperm but allow him no place in the child's life, and then when all signs pointed to a possibly contrived, suspect pregnancy, would shut her brain down and insist the child was healthy, human and hers. This ridiculous (and ultimately self-defeating storyline) was foisted on viewers, and we were expected to dismiss the very real scenes of torture inflicted on Mulder during his abduction.
