After spending the morning massaging my muscles after walking up that fucker of a hill the night before (if you were there you’ll understand), trying (and failing) to learn to use a Diablo, and spending lots of my hard earned cash on crap, I moseyed towards the sound of post-hardcore, if you will, thrashing guitar riffs and found myself face to face with the Bedroom Project. Foof, is all I have to say. Foof and ouch. Vigorous, painful and full of adrenaline, they performed their set with invigorating energy and gained several new fans that afternoon, me included!

Next came Serenity. They played a fantastic set, full of life and superb riffs. I wasn't actually intending on seeing them play but my ears pricked up as I heard them belt out their first song from across the field and rushed straight over - tiring myself out, but my God it was worth it!

The Once Over Twice yet again amazed the ass off of me (if that makes any sense!) with a hard hitting rhythmic set and vocals that blasted straight off the stage and into the audience, leaving them with a sense of bemusement and shock. As usual, they were awesome, probably doubly excited with release of their debut album ‘Special Moments to Detonate Themselves’.

Orca graced the stage next, First thing that I noticed about them was their dress co-ordination that day - all black in proper shirts - dressing up for the occasion and grabbing people’s attention! They played as always an outstanding set, slightly upsetting that there wasn't a good enough pit for them, but I guess it was due to the amount of hungover people skulking around the tents!

I was really looking forward to Drive It Like You Stole It and they didn’t let me down. I was so impressed by them; I’d love to see them again. The band as a whole were charismatic and interesting to watch and listen to, with heavy riffs of a prog rock style.

thisGIRL were another band I was really excited about seeing, but to be honest, after everything I’d heard about them, I wasn’t bowled over. It was a bit of an anti-climax, since they have so much press and everyone’s buzzing about them, but when it came to it, although they had a few real catchy songs, they didn’t grab me like other bands have. I was pretty disappointed, but I’d be quite interested to see them again to see if it was just an off day.

Million Dead certainly cheered me up though – they were fantastic. Melodic, exciting, and refreshingly raw, they were really enjoyable and I was real impressed by them, and got a little over excited when they began ‘Smiling at Strangers on Trains’, which has to be the best fucking name of a song in the history of the world!

But nothing, nothing at all, topped Biffy Clyro. I love this band, and half thought they would be terrible live since their CDs are so great and that’s usually the way it goes – you love a band and then you see them and they’re shite. But they weren’t. They manage to do something that no other band I’ve heard can do. They’re hypnotising…that’s the only word for them. I loved every second of every minute of every last song, and anyone who missed them, I pity you like I pity a peanut taster with an allergy to peanuts.
