MSCONFIG utility:

MSCONFIG is a very handy utility to do a variety of things. If you need to changed your Startup sequence of boot options, this come real handy. Are you facing a problems related to SLOW BOOT and STARTUP, this is the place to go.

How to run:

go to START->RUN and type MSCONFIG. If you have typed correctly, you would see a window coming up as shown on the top right hand side of this page.

MSCONFIG can help you in case of following problems :-

A. If you are having slow boot problem. One of the things that helps resolve slow boot problem is deselecting the WORKSTATION option from services tab. After rebooting you would see a window message that can be checked off.

B. If you have to customize multiple boot options or have problems with SHUTDOWN or STARTUP, you can select the boot sequece for next boot from here. If you want to remove any application from start up, you can do that as well from Startup tab of System Configuration utility window.
