My Car: UPDATE

The mk2 XR2 seats are now OUT.

The first person who comes down to sleepy old Dorset to pick them up can have them - FREE.
NO, I won't post them. I've mailed seats before and they're a bitch to wrap !!!

Now I have a set of XR seats (possibly late 3i) trimmed in black velvety material with small red squares all over the central cushion.
If anyone can identify the origin of these seats or can sell me some matching fabric for my rears please e-mail me straight away - the money's waiting !

Red Removal.

I've now sprayed the front light surrounds and bought and sprayed a new front grill, all in gloss black.
I thought the red looked 'scabby'.

Still haven't removed the side stripes.

Other bits?

Found some interior trim panels for the footwell walls.
Nabbed the mats out of my parents old car before they sold it, they're the thick rubbery 'canon' type (will do for now).
Got a new fan switch, glovebox door and switch surround.... passenger side window mechanism's died !
Fitted super-wide black touring car style window strip, certainly keeps the sun out. Guess I'd better phone The Fiesta Centre and get a single-wiper linkage rod next.

NOW (Jan2002)

Just fitted my christmas pressies: Small white spotlights beneath front bumper, Red trimmed black floor mats (anyone want some rubber ones?)
Also had to remove the original spotlights, which involved cutting one of the mounting bolts using my 2nd most useful tool (hacksaw). The reflectors were rusty on the old ones so I've binned them now.
Car's looking real sweet now, like a Golf but with style, just need those ruddy doors!
I'm also waiting for some sierra central locking motors and some leccy window motors from someone else.. might need some mecano and a few bolts to make it all fit !

March 2002

Got a complete (mock) leather interior. Black leather panelling looks soo sweet. I'm making up some red 'XR' stickers to put in the centre panel of the seats (where the badge goes on Recaros).
Still looking for some front door cards.. Must be capped mk1 XR2 ones.
Got myself some new alloys, at 150 quid including brand new tyres I can't complain, even if they are only 13" Foxes... Anyone wanna buy some reconditioned pepperpots with two fuct boots?
