Corps & Uniforms

Corps & Uniforms ~ Honor -in- Death ~*~ {honestus|excessum} ~

There are a few sects of service within the Kasai Defense Command. Each holds a color, a mission, and an immeasurable desire to exceed the standard, to reach perfection. There are five Corps branches, each presided over by a Commander-In-Chief; a general or admiral, and in some cases the grand general or fleet admiral. Each color represents something as well. With the Combat Corps, crimson signifies the blood of not only the enmy, but of the ally, Combat Support chose gold because it is one of the highest forms of currency. And, money after all makes things happen, as do they. The Mech Corps was originally a dark and heavy silver, but after the development of the KDC-A-1 (which their engineers had a great deal in designing) their color became ivory. The Science Corps hails with blue. Water cradles life, the various doctors, mathmeticians, and scientists of this mighty fine corps use all of their talents to preserve and enhance life--period. And, finally the Naval Corps. As blue was taken green was chosen, to remind them of their home for they see so little of it at sea, and at star.

Corps

Combat Corps

Commander-In-Chief: To be appointed.

They are the driving force of the Hoex.

Combat Support Corps

Commander-In-Chief: To be appointed.

Uniforms

Upon admission in the KDC a soldier is issued many things, but first, a uniform. All uniforms in one way or another bear the color of the soldiers' corps. Changes were made. For instance, the Class A, B, C, and Field Uniforms were all condensed into a single wear; the new Class A Service Uniform. Durable, presentable, casual work-wear. Class A Service Uniforms are of course for formal affairs as well as day to day activites. Worn in a more leisurely manner during the day-to-day duties of a soldier, and of course shined and buttoned in light of a more noble advocation. Designed for the office, the plant, the field, the ballroom, even the cockpit. The uniform is extremely versatile. Decals on shoulder boards, and left arm indentify the corps of the wearer. After the Kasai Civil War, the various factions of the Kasai Army were reformed into the Kasai Defense Command. The combat uniform (Class B Variant One; CB-V1) is still based on the same enhanced, battle ready underlay. It has various medical, neural, and physical enhancers (the metallic protrusions) built into it , and is still made of an aromatic polyamide (a ballistic-resistant, flame retardant material) fiber and leather. Decals on on the metallic protrusions typically depict the corps of the wearer. Typically the CB-V1 is worn by Hoex on post within Kasai (worn even under 'Ghost' units), and is rarely used outside of the kingdom due to the lack of technik excercised by surrounding factions. There are in total about five mainstream regulation KDC Class B Variants. The CB-V2 is cloth; white. Various areas allow for the corps identification, and if the rules of engagement allow, a CB-V1 may be worn under this uniform. This is the same with CB-V3, which can be compared to the ACU's of the United States' Armed Force Army Branch. The most primitive of the uniforms are the CB-V4 (Samurai) combat gear set, and the CB-V5 (Spartan) battle dress. The Samurai aromor is pretty self explainatory, as should be the Spartan (think 300). A cape, its color depicting the corps, it held in place by a buckle of sorts bearing the same Kasai Nation insignia as the aspis each soldier bears, and of course some form of lower body covering as well as footing. The armored uniform was discontinued, and a new more efficent armor was enstated. It became the Class C Service Uniform (KDC-A-1), nick-named 'Ghost' because of it's metallic-white color scheme. An alloy of platinum, titanium, and zirconium. Three corrosive resistant elements, bound together. The armor isn't ductile, but it is malleable, making it easily damaged by direct bludgeoning attacks, but easily repaired as well. A relatively simple servo layout is built into each suit of armor as well. These layouts allow the wearers to move more freely, not feeling the full restriction or weight of the armor. Made flame-resistant, and shock-proof, most fire and lightning based magicks have little if any effect on soldiers wearing a KDC-A-1. Decals on various parts of the armored suit usually display the corps of the wearer. The armor has three additional features; the helm, the pack, and the standard weapons. The helm has various modes of vision allowing for a multitude on site scans, communications; both radio and satellite, and an uplink to Kasai Central Intelligence. This allows soldiers to relay and retrieve information to and from one another, their commanders, and the Kasai Defense Command's AI; KCI. The pack is multi-functional as well. It of course has storage space, and holds various items that soldiers take on missions, but it also has a propulsion system. The pack's exterior is also polarized and charged, it acts as a powerful magnetic holster. This allows combatants to easily acces their weapons and other tools without having to unzip, open, or unfasten a single thing. The standard weapons included with the KDC-A-1, are the KDC-P-1 and the KDC-S-1. The KDC-P-1 is a pistol, dereived from schematics of the Desert Eagle Mark XIX .50 Action Express. The KDC-S-1 is a blade forged of the same material as the KDC-A-1. It's design is credited to the swords of Elven warriors and samurai alike. There are also male and female commander variants of the armored uniform. Save for design, there's nothing too different about them.
