It was a cold October's evening. Not a soul wandered the city's dark and rather dangerous downtown allys. Along these allys, tucked inside a cozy nook. It was a rather old building, the bricks were cracked and deteriorating, many of the windows broken or poorly patched. The inside wasn't much of an improvment. It was one room, dim and quite humid. All the tables and chairs were quite old and rickety, most lit only by candles.
Inside, the music was much louder, lyrics drowned out by the clatter of the people inside. A huge group of people were dancing in the middle, screaming along to the songs, while others sat at the bar drinking or chatted in small cliques in the corners and shadows. Among the group in the middle was a young girl, looking no older than 20, jumping to the beat. She grinned at her friend next to hear, and shouted a few inaudible words.
She and her friend, a blonde haired girl looking about the same age, then proceeded to make their way to the bar, and slid into two empty stools. "I told you this would be a blast, Kat." Yelled the brown haired girl, struggling to talk over the noise. "Yea...its great..." The other trailed off in responce. Truthfully, it wasnt really her scene, but she had decided to humor her friend for one night and go along with it.
The skys were black now, the temperature fallen. Sirens, shouts, and the other usual nighttime sounds echoed throughout the city. It was a night like any other. A young woman, looking no older 20 walked along one of the many downtown streets, heels clicking on the pavement.
A shiver ran through her, breath clearly visible. Her arms crossed tightly, the cold wind biting at her pink cheeks. A frown was etched on her coral colored lips, fangs hidden from veiw. She brushed a curly, blonde lock from her face, gaze fixed on the pavement below her, that now seemed to be moving instead of her.
This was not the best part of the city for nighttime strolls, but it sturck not the slightest fear in her. She knew this place, these harsh streets, well. Not that far ahead lay her apartment, behind her the shabby bar she worked at.
It was times like these that Kat wondered how she ever came to be here. And then the answer came swiftly to her. It was the same cruel memory that taunted her whenever she wondered this. The venom entwined words were as clear as the day they were spoken, the face of the speaker visible and unblurred, and then the memory itself...
There was a girl huddled in the corner of an ally. Tears streamed down her ghostly face. Then there was a second figure, emerging from the shadows. A hellish smirk was spread across her face, a demon like gleam illuminating her eyes. Inaudible words were mouthed to the girl, whom let out a soundless cry. And then the voice rose, the memory becoming more distinct.
"Admit it...you wanted this." Spat the woman. The words were spoken. The crying girl let out a scream that echoed through the ally way, peirced deeply by the words. The smirk on the other lady only widened. "Admit it." She hissed a second time. "You came looking for it. Was it everything you expected?" There was no relpy, not what she had wanted. "ADMIT IT!" Again, no reply. Her cold gaze was fixed on the girl...and then, her features softened, though the cruel qualities remained. "If you do, I may be persuaded to spare you..."
The voice trailed off, the image faded...the memory had ended. Kat slumped down a wall, eyes sparkling with tears. Her face was pale, even more than usual, and rid of all expression. An all to familiar terror had seized her, and frozen her to the spot. She sat there motionless, gazing into the night.

In a shadowed corner sat a young girl, bent over at a rather old piano, blonde curls covering her face from veiw. Her fingers glided over the keys, pressing down gently on the correct ones. The melody was soft, and melancholy. It rang through the dark bar, like a scene from a movie. She swayed gently to the music, gaze fixed on the piano.
When the song finally came to an end, the girl remained seated, melody lingering in her mind. The curls were then brushed out of her face, revealing very pale, except for her coral colored lips and coral contact eyes. Her expression was placid, showing slight signs of weariness.
Upon rising from the creaky bench, she made her way over to the bar. A few coins were provided, and the bartender set a small shotglass in front of her with a dull clunk. Within it was held a thick, crimson liquid, one would be likely to call blood. This in fact, would be quite true. She downed the glass quickly. If she was at all satisfied by this drink, it wasnt shown in the least. Her lips pursed lightly in a look of displeasure. Still, she ordered another to staisfy a lingering, unwanted hunger.
