LaTocha Scott is finally making moves on her own! After attempting to go solo in 1996 then changing her mind, LaTocha eventually decided to leave the group Xscape in late 1998 to pursue a solo career.

Since leaving Xscape in late 1998, LaTocha has worked on several soundtracks and albums by other artists. She has released 2 solo tracks, 2 duets, and she has done background vocals for a lot of other tracks. Her most successful track so far is the duet "One Night Stand", recorded with the new artist J-Shin. This track managed to enter the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

LaTocha also saw chart success with some of the soundtracks she has appeared on. Her track "Liar, Liar" appears on the platinum soundtrack to the movie "The Best Man", and her new duet with Chanté Moore called "Treated Like Her" is available on the soundtrack to "Big Momma's House", which is currently doing well on the charts.

LaTocha's solo album is due this summer, although many expect it to be delayed a little. The album is going to be called "Life Goes On", and is expected to contain the track "Liar Liar".

25th April - LaTocha co-wrote and does backing vocals on the new single by Tamar, called "If You Don't Wanna Love Me".
11th April - LaTocha sings backing vocals on 2 tracks for Da Brat's "Unrestricted" album. The tracks are "High Come Down" and "What's On Ya Mind".
11th March - Coming this summer - "Life Goes On", the solo album by LaTocha Scott! The album is expected to include the song "Liar Liar".
