=why Scott?=

I'm a huge Weezer fan, but I never really made a website for them. When I heard about Mikey leaving the band, I was really shocked, but not depressed, because I wasn't any huge Mikey fan, ie he wasn't my favorite. Then Scott came, and became Weezer's new bassist. When I got the Maladroit CD the day it came out, I looked at the back at the picture and said "Oh, so that's the new guy". I found out he was named Scott Shriner. I went around the web and started learning a lot of stuff about Scott from the Weezer site. He seemed like a pretty cool guy. Then I saw Weezer performing live on MTV. The whole time, I just wanted to watch Scott. I just loved the way he had so much energy and got so into his performance. Even in pictures online, you could tell. Plus he was an awesome, excellent bass player. Scott grew on me, and became my favorite. I thought he was the coolest guy. Thanks to him, I'd really like to learn bass guitar (I already play regular). But also looking around the web, I saw that a lot of people weren't really being nice about Scott. People would say things like "Bring back Mikey!" "Scott sucks!" "We want Mikey back!" Stuff like this really began to tick me off. The man deserves respect; he is doing a GREAT job, he is an EXCELLENT bass player, and from what I've heard, he's a smart, funny guy, nice to the fans, and he is a great musician. So I decided "Why don't I make him a website?" to show I care. So I did, and here it is; The Happy Scott Page. I called it that because I often say "That's happy" as in "That's good/awesome". Don't ask, I dunno. So I thought to myself "Scott is happy" ie "Scott is awesome". So I named it The Happy Scott Page, sort of as an amusement for myself. It's not much, but it's just my way of saying thanks and good job to Scott. :) This is my favorite Scott quote: "I feel that my sole mission in life is to bring the rock to the people. And I really mean that. People need to have rock brought to them. The rock saved my life as a kid, and I'll do anything for rock, bro!" I agree with Scott 100%. People need music. I love Scott's dedication to his craft, his attitude, his skills, everything. He is just an all-around great guy. I love ya. Thanks Scott. :)
