Biography
Christy was born in Dayton, Ohio on May 3rd. Since then, she has spent countless of hours singing. She had a star-quality and a will to perform, even if it wasn't the right time to... She is a talented writer, a published poet at 13, she has been known to be mature beyond her fifteen years. She admits to not being a goody bubblegum perfectionist, 'I'm not squeaky clean and I don't pretend to be.' She is independent and tells what's in her head- most of the time... she also tends to be reserved and mysterious. She is a complex person but she isn't demanding or pushy. She recorded a demo in 2002, featuring a cover of 'Torn'. She doesn't want to sing bubblegum sugary-filler pop music "I admit, I once was ensnared by the thrills of momentary satisfaction that cotton-candy-pop sometimes offers, but I don't see eye to eye with people who sing stuff like 'Life is so great, I got my boyfriend at my side and my pink, glittery cell phone in my hand' or 'Baby, loving you is like, wow.' that's not what I think it's all about..." Christy's music bears more resemblance to Ashlee Simpson and Avril Lavigne rather than Hilary Duff or Britney Spears.

Personal Quotes

"I have been singing since I could talk, as a little girl I preferred karaoke and microphones to Barbie and Ken. I just always felt the need to express myself and I've found music to be the best way for me to do that..."

"I'm extremely complicated, I sometimes surprise myself. I can be absolutely high, slap-happy one second and then the next I am just mad that I exist... I can't figure out what triggers it, but I can be your best friend or your mortal enemy, it's your choice..."

"I don't think I would really ever want to turn back time... If I hadn't made some of the mistakes in my career, I wouldn't have gotten to where I am... some accidents are blessings in disguise..."

Quotes On Christy...
"We often refer to our younger people as “our future leaders”. As another saying goes, “you reap what you sow” and whether we realize it or not, we are continually sowing our passions, ideas, and influences like crops of expression, to be harvested by the generations that follow us. This statement couldn't be more true than in the music world, as more mature music lovers like myself take every opportunity we can to offer influential inspiration, praise, knowledge or recognition to young artists. So, when I discovered a talented young lady named Christy Sechrist, I couldn't help thinking about the future, and where this rising star will take her place, in our vast musical universe. Christy has a rockin' attitude in her songs, with a winning combination of passion and enthusiasm. It's a delightful pleasure to witness what I feel are “the early days” of a sure bet for the future..." - Wally Plecha, A&R
