In 1973, George Harrison established the Material World Charitable Foundation, with the release of Living in the Material World. Royalties from the hit single ''Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)', and ''The Light That Has Lighted The World'' were donated in perpetuity through the Material World Charitable Foundation. On Ringo Starr's 1973 album ''RINGO'', the same was applied to ''Sunshine Life For Me (Sail Away Raymond)'', a Harrison composition. Harrison established the Foundation to encourage the exploration of alternate and diverse forms of artistic expression, life views and philosophies as well as a way to support established charities and people with special needs. Harrison's work continues to support the Foundation, with the releases of My Sweet Lord 2000, and proceeds from the CD/DVD Concert For George.
