Party Pokemon

This page will list, in detail, pokemon I currently, used to, or plan on using in my party. I will list the pokemon name, it's nickname (if any), nature, current level, EVs (if known), current stats, movelist, item, ability, and it's reason for being here.

Torterra Naetoru Level: 75 Impish Shell Bell Overgrow
EVs
Unknown
Stats
HP: 258 Attack: 194 Defense: 222 Special Attack: 123 Special Defense: 152 Speed: 122
Moves
Earthquake Crunch Leech Seed Wood Hammer
Purpose
Naetoru is the Turtwig I took at the very start of the game. As such, he was never properly EV trained, but it still a decent fighter. Since I had planned on making a Torterra like him part of my team from the start, I tried to make him as close as possible to the Torterra I had planned on having in my final team. He actually improved my plans for that Torterra in the process, as I had planned on using an Adamant Torterra, rather than an Impish one, but this one showed me how much better Impish was for tanking. While it may not get a slot in my current party, it is still an important part of my team.

Luxray Level: 57 Quiet None Intimidate
EVs
Unknown
Stats
HP: 178 Attack: 166 Defense: 111 Special Attack: 136 Special Defense: 110 Speed: 113
Moves
Swagger Spark Charge Crunch
Purpose
Luxray is another pokemon from the beginning of the game. It is actually the first pokemon I caught that I didn't plan on making an HM slave from the start. When I first saw a Shinx on route 202, I thought "Hey! Shinx appear here! I have to catch one of those!", and after a few minutes of searching the grass, I finally caught the 2nd one I saw. I had also planned on having a Luxray in my final party, but Fire Fang and Ice Fang are only available on Luxray as egg moves, so I couldn't mimic my plans for the movelist on this one. However, it did make me realize that Spark would be more useful than Thunder Fang, since Luxray is slow, and flinching requires first strike. It also made me realize how nessecary Quick Claw is on a pokemon as slow as 70 base speed. It turns out that my planned Luxray's moveset was weaker than I had realized, and hardly able to hurt anything without a weakness to either Electric or Dark. Still, this one taught me how to properly use a slow but powerful electric pokemon.

Lucario Level: 62 Careful None Steadfast
EVs
Unknown
Stats
HP: 176 Attack: 160 Defense: 114 Special Attack: 170 Special Defense: 108 Speed: 137
Moves
Close Combat Dragon Pulse Force Palm Aura Sphere
Purpose
My first Riolu egg. I wanted to try Lucario out since I saw the picture serebii had when it was first revealed (and everyone thought he was a legendary pokemon), so I just HAD to use it as soon as I was able to hatch the egg. I had also planned on using one in my final party, but this one is nothing like the one I planned on, as that one was filled with Special Attack TMs. And I don't like using TMs that are expensive or unbuyable if I don't have to. Still, he ended up being fairly helpful when I needed a decent speed pokemon to use during the story.

Dialga Level: 57 Naive Adamant Orb Pressure
EVs
Unknown
Stats
HP: 196 Attack: 162 Defense: 164 Special Attack: 187 Special Defense: 109 Speed: 137
Moves
Metal Claw Ancientpower Dragon Claw Roar of Time
Purpose
If you read the main page, you HAD to know this was here. Dialga is the mascot pokemon of Diamond, and the exclusive legend, so of course I'll have him. However, he wasn't trained very well, as I usually only use legends for the story. Still, the fact that he is a legend, combined with his great defensive typing, makes him a VERY powerful pokemon. Roar of Time is almost guaranteed to OHKO any pokemon you find in the main game, provided they don't have the Steel type. And right after, all I have to do is switch out for something else when the opponent replaces their fainted pokemon, and I get to skip out of the "pokemon must recharge" side effect of Roar of Time. If I had trained him properly, I'm sure Dialga would be a very powerful pokemon.

Palkia (japanese) Level: 65 Brave None Pressure
EVs
Unknown
Stats
HP: 207 Attack: 187 Defense: 140 Special Attack: 219 Special Defense: 170 Speed: 131
Moves
Surf Earth Power Dragon Claw Spacial Rend
Purpose
I recently found a good deal on the GTS for a japanese Palkia, so I took it. I have to admit, Palkia really let me down. After Dialga, I was expecting Palkia to be much stronger than it really is. Spacial Rend's High Critical Rate is nice, but it doesn't make up for having 30 less power (after STAB) than Roar of Time. Also, while it's typing takes away almost all weaknesses, it is far less impressive than Dialga's, partially since it's shared by Kingdra. Palkia's stats are suppossedly as good as Dialga's, but mine seems a lot weaker than a Dialga, but I may have just gotten poor IVs on this thing.

Torterra Hayashichi Level: 58 Impish Leftovers Overgrow
EVs
HP: 252 Attack: 252 Defense: 0 Special Attack: 0 Special Defense: 0 Speed: 6
Stats
HP: 225 Attack: 181 Defense: 158 Special Attack: 87 Special Defense: 117 Speed: 78
Moves
Earthquake Stone Edge Leech Seed Wood Hammer
Purpose
Hayashichi is my party's main tanking pokemon. 105 base Defense and 95 base HP give it a high survivability rate, especially when combined with Leftovers and Leech Seed. 85 base Special Defense means it even has decent survivability against special attackers. And it's 109 base Attack power makes it a pretty strong attacker as well, especially when it has access to powerful STAB attacks like Earthquake and Wood Hammer. His only real weakness is that his typing gives him an enormous weakness to Ice, which is pretty common for dealing with dragons like Salamence and Garchomp. Still, Hayashichi is definately one of my best pokemon.

Luxray Kaminari Level: 66 Brave Quick Claw Rivalry
EVs
HP: 6 Attack: 252 Defense: 0 Special Attack: 0 Special Defense: 0 Speed: 252
Stats
HP: 182 Attack: 231 Defense: 129 Special Attack: 144 Special Defense: 125 Speed: 130
Moves
Spark Ice Fang Fire Fang Crunch
Purpose
I really screwed up on this one. Kaminari was planned to be part of my final party. However, I hadn't realized how weak Spark, Fire Fang, and Ice Fang would be. Also, I hadn't thought how adding Speed EVs would be pointless on a pokemon so slow, so there's half of my EVs down the drain. If I had noticed these problems beforehand, I would've been able to make him more effective. It has no better physical attacks, so it is unfortunate that it can't make better use of the 120 base Attack power and it's Rivalry ability. It's movepool also doesn't look diverse enough to make use of it's 95 base Special Attack power, so Luxray is much less impressive than it seems at first glance.

Lucario Kinzoku Level: 57 Modest Wide Lens Steadfast
EVs
HP: 6 Attack: 0 Defence: 0 Special Attack: 252 Special Defence: 0 Speed: 252
Stats
HP: 154 Attack: 118 Defence: 90 Special Attack: 194 Special Defence: 93 Speed: 145
Moves
Dark Pulse Psychic Focus Blast Metal Sound
Purpose
Kinzoku really uses it's 115 base Special Attack power well. It's only real weaknesses are the lack of accuracy on Focus Blast, and low HP compared to others in my party. Having the Steel type makes the low HP less of a problem, but doesn't give it a decent STAB to go alongside Fighting, since fighting attacks hit everything steel attacks hit, and more. However, it turns out, I accidentally made a physical attacker with virtually the same attack set, so it's usability will be limited.

Gallade Reitsurugi Level: 58 Adamant Scope Lens Steadfast
EVs
HP: 6 Attack: 252 Defence: 0 Special Attack: 0 Special Defence: 0 Speed: 252
Stats
HP: 156 Attack: 220 Defence: 89 Special Attack: 77 Special Defence: 138 Speed: 145
Moves
Leaf Blade Night Slash Psycho Cut Close Combat
Purpose
Reitsurugi is virtually a physical counterpart to Kinzoku. The only difference is a grass attack (Leaf Blade) in place of an move to make attacks deal more damage (Metal Sound for Kinzoku), though I have considered switching Leaf Blade for Swords Dance. Even without Swords Dance, Gallade's 125 base Attack power makes Gallade a very powerful physical attacker, especially when three of it's moves have a high critical rate, and the fourth move has high base power already, and is STAB on top of that. Put on top of that the high type coverage of the 2 STAB moves alone makes Reitsurugi a very versatile attacker. It's main weakness is that it won't survive very long against physical attackers, but unless it hits a physical tank, it shouldn't have to.

Azelf Aoiryoku Level: 70 Modest Wise Glasses Levitate
EVs
HP: 6 Attack: 0 Defence: 0 Special Attack: 252 Special Defence: 0 Speed: 252
Stats
HP: 196 Attack: 164 Defence: 116 Special Attack: 269 Special Defence: 108 Speed: 214
Moves
Psychic Thunderbolt Flamethrower Nasty Plot
Purpose
I know I said I don't like to use legends very often, but Azelf was just too good for me to resist. Azelf has 125 base power for BOTH attacking stats, though it's moverset clearly indicates that Special Attacks work better. Azelf's speed is also almost as high as it's attack powers, at 115, making it the fastest pokemon on my team. Wise Glasses give it even more power, in case it's already insanely strong special attacks aren't enough. It's weakness is it's inability to take any decent attacks. Fortunately for it, only 22 other pokemon (3 of which are Deoxys) can outrun a 115 base speed, and only Special tanks can survive a hit from one of his powerful elemental attacks. Definately the best pokemon on my team.
