History

The Los Angeles Lakers franchise has been a symbol of consistency since entering the NBA as the Minneapolis Lakers in 1949. Over the course of 51 years, the Lakers have appeared in 25 championship series, winning 12 of them. The 1980's defined the Lakers franchise, winning five championship titles. This team was led by the great Magic Johnson. Perhaps the new era is now, with Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal leading the way for many more titles to come...
