Hunter McKee's Mystique continues
McKee Gets Much Needed Break
McKee, seen here in a 1999 file photo, will be aboard as the XSA Umpire Coordinator
Governors Hall, Room 311 - In a move that was very expected, Hunter McKee was named as Larry Babcock's successor on Sunday.  After Babcock had specifically requested for McKee to take over the spot, Mulroe had no choice but to comply.
"Hunter will be a great fit for us, he has great ties around the state and will be well respected with our many umpires,"  said Mulroe after the Babcock press conference.
Mulroe originally had TJ DeGiulio in mind before speaking with Babcock.
"TJ was already in the system, is very respected amongest our XSA umpires.  After talking with Lar though, Hunter just seemed to click with where we want to go with the umpires in our organization."
Unconfirmed reports from Indianapolis stated that the race between McKee and DeGiulio was very tight and the final factor came when McKee stated he would work for free.
"The rumor that Hunter was picked because he would work for free is false.  We talked things over and did not feel TJ could live up to what we need right now at such a young age.  Also, TJ said he would only work for twenty years of back Sports Illustrated Swim Suit Editions," Mulroe said.
Xperts (purposely mispelled for effect) predict they will see little of McKee this season, due to his overwhelming mystique.  While not visibly present, McKee's aura will be felt on the softball scene as he is now calling the shots from the Home Office.
