| Umpires must collect money and fill out an ejection form once they ask someone to be removed from the game. The form is to be signed by all parties and the money ($90) is given to the tournament UIC for pizza money. |
| Living by the XSA's "turn about is fair play" motto, any plate umpire getting hit with a pitched ball gets to fire one at the pitcher, whom may not protect herself. In the same manner, a fouled ball striking the umpire, the catcher is held responsible and required to be hit in the area that the umpire was hit in. |

| The protest fee for any tournament is $80, while any qualifier, invite or world is $130, money is returned if the protest is upheld and only misapplication of rules is protestable. NOTE - Instant Replay is no longer encouraged by the XSA after the May 2 stoning of an umpire using a television monitor in Montana. |
| Rule Five: Umpires |
| The XSA will use two (2)umpires for all tournaments and four (4) for qualifiers, Invites or any World function. |
| Rule 5-1 |
| If, after rain, snow or sleet, the plate umpire, in conjunction with the UIC must determine if the grounds are fit for play. Also, three balls will start the game, regardless of how cut up they may get. Both situations are protestable at the rates listed under the protest rule. |
| The official umpire uniform shall consist of the following clothing. *- must be purchased through the XSA. |

| All umpires, except those from Kansas, are required to wear all protective gear when behind the plate. NOTE - Kansas is also exempt from the fun of rule 5-3 |
