Changing Places: Season Two
PART 11

The next morning, Liz and Isabel saw their parents off. It was a tearful goodbye, after all the parents weren’t completely positive they were going to see their children alive again. But as much as they wanted to stay and help their kids, they pushed aside the instinct that parents had to protect their kids and did what they asked and left. They had to trust in the fact that they knew what was best when it came to alien business.

As soon as their shift was over, Michael, Maria, and Max left the Crashdown and headed back over to the Evans. They picked up Alex up on the way and kept an eye out for anyone who might be following them. They arrived unscathed, just as the Sheriff and Tess pulled up.

Max looked at the Sheriff in surprise, “Sheriff? What are you doing here?”

"Liz called me last night and filled me in on what’s going on. We both agreed that it’d be a good idea for us to join you guys at this little meeting since I’m going to have to do damage control if any of the humans catch wind of what’s going on.” The Sheriff explained.

“Well I guess we should get this show on the road, huh?” Maria asked from beside Max.

They all nodded and started to go in but Maria felt Michael’s hand slip into her own and pull her back. She turned to screech at him for his rough handling when she saw the seriousness in his eyes mixed with concern. “What’s going on Spaceboy? Why all the manhandling?”

“I just wanted to talk to you.” Michael said. “Alone and I didn’t get a chance to at work earlier.”

“You sound serious.”

“I am.” Michael replied so quietly that it came out as almost a whisper. “You heard me telling Max that Liz sent her parents away this morning didn’t you?”

“Yeah.” Maria commented then her eyes got big. “Oh, no you don’t! Don’t even think what I know you’re thinking. Because I’m not going to do it and despite what you think, you can’t make me do it.”

“Hang on, hang on.” Michael said holding up his hand in defense. “I wasn’t planning on making you go. Although I’d thought about trying, I want you safe. No, I don’t want to take away your choice. I just wanted you to know that if you chose to go, I wouldn’t blame you or be mad. I’m not going to ask you to fight in a fight that isn’t yours.”

Maria took his face in both of her hands and kissed his forehead, his nose, then finally his mouth. With each kiss she punctuated her words, “You wonderful, caring, idiotic alien of mine. Don’t you realize that this is my fight too? Because I love you? Because I want to be with you and that makes your fight mine?”

Michael was in bewilderment and amazement at Maria’s words and tried to think of something to say back that would be passionate enough to express his love for her but a rustling in the bushes halted the words in his throat. Someone was watching them.

Michael put his finger to his lips to make sure that Maria didn’t say anything. He pulled away from her gradually, moving towards where they had heard the noise. Moving as fast as possible, Michael dove into the bush. His hand-curled around the prowler’s arm and he yanked them close. He stood up and dragged them to stand.

Maria’s mouth dropped open when she saw who Michael had caught. “Courtney?!”

Courtney didn’t say a word, which angered Michael and he asked, “What are you doing out here? Why were listening to our conversation?”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Courtney replied.

“You’re lying.” Maria said getting up in Courtney’s face. When she did, she spotted something on the side of Courtney’s face. She reared backwards as she pointed it out. “Michael, look.”

Michael looked at what Maria was pointing at and for a minute, he saw nothing. He was about to ask Maria what she was talking about when he spotted it. A small piece of skin that had pealed away from Courtney’s jaw and sagged slightly. It was exactly what Rath had described. “She’s a skin.”

Maria couldn’t believe it but it all seemed to fit now. Courtney was always around Michael, watching him. Maria had thought it was because she had a crush on him or something similar but now she realized that it had been a cover to get closer to watch Michael. To keep an eye on one of the four. “What are we going to do now?”

“We’re going to get some answers.” Michael said as he tightened his grip on Courtney and pulled her inside his sisters’ house. When they entered, they were met with inquisitive looks from everyone.

“Um, guys. What’s going on?” Liz asked.

“Michael and I were outside talking and we heard a noise in the bush and Michael went to check it out and we found Courtney then we found out that she’s not who we thought she was.” Maria jabbered out an explanation so fast that she was out of breath when she was done.

“I think we should videotape her and play her back later in slow motion.” Rath commented.

“Courtney’s a skin.” Michael simplified. “We found her outside.”

“How do you know she’s a skin?” Alex asked.

Michael reached over and pulled on the piece of dead skin he’d seen earlier. It came off in a large piece, it looked like a piece of snakeskin. “Need any more clarification?”

“Nope, that answers my question.” Alex said as Maria and Tess made a disgusted face.

“But that not the only question we need to ask.” Shyla stated.

Liz knew that Shyla was right and they needed to interrogate Courtney. “The floors open.”

Michael spoke first, “You didn’t answer my question outside. What are you doing here?”

“Watching you.” Courtney responded.

“Why? So Nicole can know that we’re all in one place at one time?” Rath asked.

“No, Nicole doesn’t know I’m here. She thinks I’m trying to find you guys.”

“Wait a minute, whose Nicole?” Maria asked.

“The skins leader.” Lonnie answered. “One of Kivar’s top officers. And biggest sluts.”

“If Nicole doesn’t know you’re here, why are you?” Rath repeated. “You can’t deny that you were watching us.”

“I was watching you, but I wasn’t doing it for Nicole. I don’t answer to Nicole.”

“But you’re skin, all skins answer to Nicole.” Dero stated.

“Not all of us. There is a small faction of us who don’t agree with Kivar having control of the throne. We’ve infiltrated Nicole’s people before they came to Earth in the hopes of helping the person we think should have the throne, should have always had the throne.” Courtney explained.

“So you guys are on Liz’s side.” Michael stated.

“No, yours.” Courtney said pointing to Michael and Rath. “We never stood behind Shyla’s entitlement to the throne, we stood for Rath’s. We thought he should be king.”

PART 12

“Me?” Michael said wide-eyed looking over at his dupe. “Us?”

“Are you sure you’ve got the right Spaceboy?” Maria asked.

“Yes.” Courtney answered snappily. “There were a small amount of us who believed that Shyla should have advocated her throne to her brother.”

“Why?” Liz asked.

“They thought she was too lenient towards those who would challenge the peace that had last longer than several generations of rulers before her.” Courtney explained with obvious distaste. “She was always trying to be too diplomatic. It what’s led to all of your deaths.”

“So why would Rath do so much better?” Shyla asked.

“Rath was the general of the armies; he trained and led thousands of men. We won every battle that he strategized. If he would have lived instead of listening to his sisters into cooperating in the peace talks with Kivar that got him killed, he could have commanded the armies to wipe out Kivar’s forces. After he won the war, no one would dispute his claim to the throne, he would have ruled.” Courtney clarified.

“Ruling by violence isn’t always the answer.” Michael grumbled thinking of how Hank had tried to do just that to him when he was younger. He would fight if he had to, but he would never use violence over someone to keep them in line. Besides, he didn’t want to be king or anything close. Way too much responsibility that he wanted none of.

“I’m just telling you our viewpoints, I didn’t say you had to agree with them.” Courtney stated.

“Great, now not only do we have to deal with evil aliens, we have to deal with Michael and Rath worshippers.” Maria said with the roll of her eyes. “That’s all his ego needed.”

“Hey.” Michael and Rath both yelled but Shyla held up her hand to hush them.

“The last thing we need right now is for you guys to start bitching and moaning. There’s a lot bigger things going on then this petty sh*t.” Shyla chastised before glaring at Courtney spitefully. “How many Skins are there? How many of yours? How many of Nicole’s?”

“Originally there were forty under Nicole’s command, the numbers have dwindled since the attack in New York. She sent half of her men; the survivors should be back any day. The report on their numbers wasn’t definite but it was anywhere between ten to fifteen. Out of the entire group, about a dozen of those on my side. We avoid contact with each other; we don’t want to run the risk of exposure. If one of us were found out, all of would be. Nicole would use her powers on us until she was sure that she had gotten everything out of us. She’s extremely powerful.”

“So we’re looking at around twenty five of them against our what thirteen?” The Sheriff asked as he counted all of those around the room.

“Don’t forget Nasedo.” Isabel stated. “Where is he anyway?”

“I don’t know. He was gone when I got up this morning.” Kyle explained. “I figured he’d meet me here.”

“Great, now we have one missing protector.” Michael grumbled.

“What are the skins capable of?” Isabel asked.

“The skins are capable of doing everything you’re protector is.” Courtney stated.

“And Nicole?”

“Same thing, but she stronger than standard skin. She has advanced mental powers including the ability to mind rape you. She gets inside of your head and sees your memories. She can blast with the best of them but it’s nothing to her mind rapes. It hurts like hell so I would stay away from her, don’t let her get her hands on you.” Courtney warned.

“Sheriff, I know that Max, Alex, and Maria are with us on this. But we can’t expect you and Tess to go into this fight with us.” Liz interrupted. “I only called you because I wanted you to be aware of what was going on.”

Sheriff Valenti looked from young teenage alien queen to his daughter. He had sworn months before that he would do what he could to protect the young aliens. To him it was the only thing he could do to make up for the trouble he had caused them. “We’re here, and we’ll do what we can.”

Liz knew that she couldn’t argue with him, he’d made up his mind. The only thing she could do was to protect them as best as they could. And part of that would be to tell them how to defend themselves. Turning to her duplicate she asked, “You haven’t told us yet how to kill them.”

“The only way to kill them is to destroy part of the husks, then the core inside is exposed. But human methods like guns won’t do the trick. They don’t penetrate the husks enough. But it will slow them down. A shock wave like Dero’s or a strong blast will be able to penetrate with a frontal attack.” Shyla illustrated.

“What about a fire ball?” Max asked.

“If it’s hot enough.” Shyla answered. “For those of us who don’t have those powers? There’s a place in the back of the husk that is vulnerable.”

“The spot she’s talking about is the seal that airlocks the husk.” Courtney furthered explained. She turned slightly to display her back and pulled up her shirt along with a large flap of skin. Underneath they could see a piece of metal that resembled the lid of a jar. “Hit that as hard as you can, it’ll break the seal and expose the inner being.”

“Why do you guys peel?” Tess asked meekly. She felt slightly intimidated at the moment. She was in a room with nine aliens; one of which she had a slight crush on, not to mention her ex-boyfriend who had been changed into one of the aliens. She felt like patting herself on the back for not going completely mental yet. “I mean, doesn’t the shedding leave evidence behind of who or what you are?”

“Yes, but it wasn’t something we had to worry about until the last few years. These husks are only good for about fifty years, so now they’re deteriorating.” Courtney explained.

“What happens when they completely fail?” Liz asked.

“We die.”

“Just like that?” Shyla asked. “Kivar sent forty of his people to Earth to either find the royals or die?”

“No, after we arrived and settled, ordered more husks to be created. We weren’t sure how long we would be here and how the husks would hold up so she wanted to have backups.” Courtney clarified. “But they were destroyed before they could be harvested for use and us transferred inside.”

“Destroyed?” Several them asked at one time and Courtney nodded.

“I bet Nicky wasn’t too happy about that.” Lonnie commented.

“She’d be even more upset if she found out that it was the people she trusted.” Courtney stated.

Liz thought about the comment before she said, “You did it?”

“Yes.” Courtney admitted.

“Why? That would be commenting suicide for the twelve of you.” Isabel stated.

“But it would kill off and stop the other skins from fulfilling their mission and Rath’s reincarnated form would survive. We all knew the risks and decided it was worth it. Especially since at the time, it looked like Nicole wasn’t going to find you before the husks died.” Courtney stated. “We made it look like an equipment failure.”

“So Nicole is basically between a big rock and a hard place. Either she comes after us and goes back to Antar or dies?” Kyle inquired.

“Well it was always her plan to come after all of you. And you’re right, she’s becoming more desperate since the husks are dying.” Courtney stated.

“So she’s gung ho so that she can save her ass.” Shyla stated.

“Yes, and no.” Courtney answered.

“Now you’re confusing us.” Maria stated.

“She wants to go home before her husks runs out. At first her orders were to capture you so that you could be taken home for a public execution but now they’ve been changed to a kill or capture. We received word a few months ago from Antar that the rebels, the people on your side, are gaining ground in the war. Kivar hopes that when they hear of your deaths and see the bodies, they’ll give up knowing that their fight is pointless. Kivar will do anything to win this war and rule, failure is not an option.”

“So we’re winning?” Michael asked.

“We’re gaining ground.” Courtney clarified. “More so than in the past years. I think Kivar might be worried that the people who created you might get one of their ship through his blockade and be able to come to Earth to retrieve you.”

“So if we wipe out all the enemy skins, then you guys shouldn’t have to worry about any more coming. It sounds like Kivar has his hands and his ships too busy to send anyone else.” Max commented.

“Max is right. If the war is going the way Courtney reports it is, then we should be okay once we’ve dealt with the current threat.” Liz stated.

“And there in lies the problem.” Isabel stated.

“So what are do we do now?” Maria asked.

All eyes turned to Liz, expecting her to tell them. She knew that she had to say something, she had to come with a plan. She was responsible for all the people in the room and she was going to do whatever possible to make sure they came out of this alive. “Courtney, do you know where the skins are now?”

“No, Nicole has had the whole group on the move for the past week or so.” Courtney stated. “She’s even cut down on communications. She contacts me every twelve hours on my cell phone, which only she has the number for to see if I’ve got any news to report.”

“How long until the next check in?” Michael asked.

“About four hours.”

“But how do we know for sure that she’s telling us the truth about all of this? She could just be a plant for Nicole to feed us false information then go and report to her.” Kyle butted in.

“We don’t. But Courtney’s given us the most information, until it’s proved false, we have to figure it’s correct.” Liz answered his questions. “As for her running to tattle to Nicole, she won’t because she’s not going anywhere. She’s staying here, along with the rest of us.”

“We’re all staying here?” Alex asked.

“Yep, it’s for the best. That way we’re all together.”

“But then Nicole could just swoop in and take us all at once.” Lonnie argued.

“He stood a chance of that ever since the four of you made contact with us.” Liz contended. “If we split up, then he and his people will weaken us by picking us off a few at a time. It’s better if we all stick together. Then we can combine our powers against the enemy. After all that’s why you guys sought us out.”

Turning away from the group and towards Max, Maria, and Alex. “You guys should call your parents, come up with something to tell them.”

“Um…this sounds trivial and I hate to bring it up but what about school?” Maria asked. “We’ve only got one more day of the weekend.”

“If we live through tonight and tomorrow, we’ll worry about it then.” Liz answered truthfully before they moved on to the next subject.

PART 13

“You might not want to get too close to the window. Not without some type of shield to guard you from a surprise blast.”

Tess turned away from the window to face the lecturer; “Do you really think that they would do that, Kyle?”

“Launch a surprise attack? Definitely.” Kyle stated.

They moved away from the windows and sat down at the kitchen table. With so many people in the house it made for tight quarters. Tess had been lucky to find the kitchen empty when she had gone looking for a spot to think. They had been talking, and arguing for hours over what to do. Liz and Shyla might have been the leaders over all but Tess had noticed that everyone still didn’t keep their opinions to themselves.

But in the end, they stayed holed up at the Evans’ house, waiting to see what would come next. It was night now and so far no signs of evil aliens coming to get them. Nicole had contacted Courtney as expected and she stated that she had no new information for her, a piece of information that she was not happy about.

“Have you heard anything from Nasedo yet?” Tess asked. She knew that Kyle had been trying to call and locate their protector ever since the beginning of the meeting.

“No, nothing.” Kyle said.

“Does that worry you? With everything going on?” Tess asked.

“Yes and no. Ed’s disappeared like this before. I never know if he’s going to be around or not. He prepared me to be on my own a long time ago.” Kyle explained. “But knowing that there’s a bunch of skins lurking around does make me a little more uneasy about this outing. I know he can take care of himself, but he’s severely outnumbered.”

“So why do you think he took off knowing that they’re around?” Tess asked.

“Maybe to check them out? Create a distraction and lead them away from us?” Kyle suggested. “How are you doing with all of this? Must be strange.”

“Yeah, it’s strange. I mean, I’ve known about aliens for months but it’s a little different being right in the middle of an alien war zone.” Tess said.

“Then why are you here?” Kyle asked. He didn’t understand why the humans were standing at their side, at least not completely. Maria and Alex were sticking by their loved ones. Max was considered one of them now and Kyle knew he’d stick by Liz no matter what but the Sheriff and Tess had no ties to them so why were they helping.

“Because it’s the right thing to do.” Tess shrugged. “You guys need our help. I don’t know what we’ll be able to do but we’ll try our best.”

“Could you use that if you needed to?” Kyle asked referring to the small handgun Tess had with her.

“Yes. Dad made sure I can defend myself if necessary.” Tess stated.

“Just goes to show that I still have a lot to learn about you.” Kyle said.

Tess looked at him under lowered lashes. “You know we never have had a chance to go out.”

“Yeah, since our first crack at hanging out kind of got interrupted.” Kyle said smiling thinking of the Crash festival. “Once this is all over, and if we have the chance, do you want to?”

“Definitely.” Tess said smiling.

After all the talking broke up, Max talked a little to his friends before going to find Liz. He knew that she should be alone in her room. He had overheard that Shyla and Dero had gone off to one of the other rooms for some time alone. It had been strange and unnerving to see the duplicates of Liz and Kyle being so intimate with each other. He had to remind himself that they were not Liz and Kyle.

Liz’s door was cracked open so Max poked his head in instead of knocking. Liz was curled up in a chair by her window. She was too far away to actually see anything aside from the balcony but Max could see by the far away look in her eyes that the view didn’t matter. She wasn’t paying attention to it, her mind was elsewhere. “Penny for your thoughts.”

Liz’s head snapped over to look at Max offering him a slight smile. “I doubt you’ll want to spend that much.”

Max made his way over and sat down on the arm of her chair. “I’m willing to pay anything for them, just so I know you’re not shutting me out. What’cha thinking about?”

“That I’m the wrong person to be in charge here. I don’t know if I can handle knowing that I’m responsible for their lives. That my choices can get them killed.” Liz stated.

Max reached out and ran his hand down her silky hair. “Liz, I think because of how much you care about everyone is the perfect grounds for you to be the leader. Because you’ll do what’s best to keep everyone safe.”

As they sat there finding comfort in each other’s presence, Max continued to stroke her hair with one hand, letting his fingers tangle and play with the silky strands. He pressed a gentle kiss to her brow then to each temple before softly urging her to look up at him with one finger under her chin. Her gaze met his and as she read the love shining in his eyes, he lowered his mouth to hers, taking her lips in a soft, searching kiss.

Max had meant the kiss to be a therapy for both of them, a form of comfort. But as the taste of her mouth invaded his senses and wrapped his brain in a warm fog, Max’s reason and control faded. Liz’s arms wrapped around his neck, her fingers toying with the short strands of hair at the base of his neck.

Max pulled her up to stand in front of him, her body pressed against his. It was then that Max deepened the contact, slipping his tongue inside to explore the heat of her mouth. She murmured her approval and he groaned as her tongue sparred with his, arousing them both.

“Make love to me Max,” Liz moaned. She knew that up until that point, they had been taking things slow but she didn’t feel like going slow anymore. She wanted to be with him, just in case there was never another chance.

Max’s thoughts were mirroring Liz’s and as easily gave into his desires. His hands slid down her body to the waist of her jeans and pulled her tank top out and over her head letting it fall to the floor exposing her breast. He cupped her breast in his hands and gently massaged them.

Liz arched her back as he leaned forward to kiss and suckle her breast. He pushed against her letting her feel his erection through their jeans. She gasped and pushed down against him making him bite down on her breast. He released her breast and grabbed both sides of her face making her look at him.

Liz pulled away from him and pushed him back so that they were closer to the bed and pushed her jeans down to the floor. At the same time he pulled his jeans off depositing them on top of hers but only after retrieving a foil packet from his wallet. He sat down on the edge of the bed as she came back to him.

When she was near enough, Max encircled his arms around her waist bringing her into a hug letting his face rest against her stomach. Liz wrapped her arms around his head gently enjoying the contact they both so desperately needed. All either of them wanted was comfort. She felt him move and look down to see him staring up at her.

There was so much understanding in Max’s eyes that Liz wanted to cry. He knew that they might not survive to have another night together that this might be their last chance to express their love in a physical way. He hugged her to him as he let his body fall back on the bed allowing her to be on top. He sat up resting his back against the headboard and pushed her hair away from her face and he could feel her entire body shake lightly as if she were cold.

"You okay?” Max asked worried as he ran his hand down her arm.

"Yeah, just...a little nervous I guess, " Liz said running her hands up and down his muscular arms. “ I know it’s silly since it’s not like we haven’t done this before, but now...it’s different.”

He shook his head, "I know, but remember that I love you."

Max kissed her fully and deeply letting her know he wanted this as much as she did. He ran his hands up and down her back feeling goosebumps rise as he did. She closed her eyes and sighed at his ministrations. She pushed down on his lap making him groan in pleasure.

Liz opened her eyes to see him staring at her intently before pulling the condom out of his hand and sheathing it down his length. She raised up a little never taking her eyes off his as she slowly sank down on him. They both moaned from the pleasure of their final joining.

Max rested his forehead against hers as she started to move at a steady pace. He listened to her moans, whimpers and gasps as he pumped in and out of her. She listened to his heavy breathing and grunts as she rode him faster and faster. He leapt forward latching himself to her throat sucking at the sensitive skin.

"Oh Max!" Liz moaned loudly as she quickened her pace. Max firmly grabbed her hips pulling her down harder on him.

"Liz, " he whimpered as she squeezed her muscles tightly around him. “ I love you so much.”

His words made her snap as she yelled in pleasure. Her orgasm rippled through her body sending violent shivers all over. Max moved inside her a couple more times and joined her in his own orgasm shaking violently from head to toe. They held each other as they caught their breath and calmed down. Max moved them so she was spooned against him wrapping his arms around her. She snuggled against him enjoying his body heat and they both fell into a blissful slumber.

PART 14

**Warning: NC- 17**

Max lay awake staring down at Liz as she slept. Slowly and gently he played with her hair just not enough to wake her. He listened to her steady breathing knowing she was still sleeping deeply. He brought a handful of her hair to his face and inhaled. She smelled so good. He was still tingly from their activities the night before. He would never forget how good she felt. Even if he only lived one more day, which very well could be true.

Max caressed the side of her face with a feather light touch. He couldn't stop himself from touching her, she was addictive. He ran his fingers down the side of her face to her neck and pushed her hair away exposing her beauty. He leaned forward and laid soft kisses up and down her neck. She stirred as goosebumps raised to the top of her skin. He smiled at how responsive she was to his touch. His fingers left her neck going down her arm and back up several times making her shiver in her sleep. She moaned and snuggled closer against his chest.

"Max..." Liz moaned quietly. He closed his eyes when she spoke his name, savoring the sound of it. He kissed up and down her neck again coming to a halt at her ear.

"Liz, " Max whispered. He watched as her eyes fluttered open and looked up at him. She sighed sleepily and rolled over to face him snuggling against his chest.

"Morning, " Liz said.

Max smoothed away a few strands of her hair kissing her, "Morning."

Liz closed her eyes and enjoyed his attention. Their lovemaking from the night before had been amazing. She wanted many nights with Max. She wanted him to stay with her all the time. She had only ever wanted to be with him and they had been apart for so long. So much time wasted. The thought saddened her

"You okay?” Max asked concerned. She opened her eyes and moved to straddle his legs laying her chin on his chest.

“Just making sure you don’t leave.” Liz answered.

Max was shocked to think that Liz would actually believe that he would leave. But he couldn’t blame her. He had left her only a few short hours the last time. It was understandable that she be so unconfident of what might happen with them now. And he hated the thought that he caused those feelings. “I’m sorry.”

"I know," Liz said nodding her head, knowing exactly what he was apologizing for. She moved back a little off of him and regretted it instantly. In truth she felt hollow without him between her legs. She closed her eyes, which was a big mistake. Images of him above her...inside her...she shivered, which didn’t go unnoticed by him.

"Cold?” Max asked. She stared up at him then crawled up his body to straddle his lower body making him groan and close his eyes briefly. Max reached up and ran his hands up and down her back as she leaned down to kiss him passionately. He pulled her closer and deepened the kiss.

Breathlessly Liz pulled back, "Should we go downstairs or stay here?”

"Stay right here, " Max said pulling her back down into another kiss.

Liz had no complaints as her lips came crushing down on his. She moaned against him then gasped as she was rolled over onto her back. She sighed as his lips made a trail down her neck to her breast. He suckled one into his mouth letting his tongue roll over and around it over and over. She gripped his hair as he suckled her deeper. She couldn't stop the whimper from her lips as he moved over to her other breast. She wasn't sure she could take another round of him, but she was more than willing to try.

"You are so incredible,” Max breathed before moving from her breast to leave tongue trails down her stomach. She watched him as he moved down her body and gulped as she saw his destination. He hadn't done that to her the night before and if it was anything like the feeling of his tongue in her mouth, she was in for some extreme pleasure.

Max settled himself between her thighs, opening her wider. He laid feather light kisses up and down both her thighs, teasing her. She felt like her skin was going to crawl off her. The room temperature had risen twenty degrees.

"Liz, " Max said getting her attention. She looked down to see his tongue dart out against her clit. She gasped closing her eyes letting her head fall back. Her back arched giving better access to Max. He rolled and circled her clit with his tongue. He loved how she tasted and how wet she was before he ever really touched her. He looked up under hooded eyes toward her. She was so beautiful when she was like that.

Her eyes closed as her mouth open, breathing heavily and the sounds, the sounds she made almost made him loose control. Liz thought she was going to snap in two when he added more pressure to her clit. He would gently roll his tongue around it, suckle it then run his tongue directly over it over and over again.

Liz grabbed at the sheets hoping to get some kind of leverage to keep from breaking his jaw at her bucking hips. His hands trailed up her legs to her knees and hooked around them bringing her legs over his shoulders.

"Oh God Max..." Liz moaned.

Liz loved the feeling of his tongue. If felt like wet silk or wet suede. She shuddered suddenly and new she was about to go over the edge. It didn't go unnoticed by Max as he felt her shiver go through her entire body and through his, it was strange. He didn't slow up but didn't speed up either. He wanted to drag it out as long as possible.

His left hand moved from her knee to between her legs and he groaned against her clit at the amazing feeling of her wetness. He slipped two of his fingers in easily pumping them in and out as he licked and suckled at her clit.

"Max!” Liz screamed bucking her hips against the overpowering sensations going through her body. She was getting light headed from breathing so heavily. Her teeth were actually starting to feel numb and her mouth was dry. She let her death grip on the sheet go and entwined her fingers in his hair pulling him closer to her.

Max's head was spinning from his own sensations coursing through his body. Her smell, taste, sounds and her firm thigh grip was driving him insane. He was so hard against the sheet he just knew when she went over the edge he would be right behind her without a single touch.

Then he felt it, a shudder and another then another before she tensed and let out the most exotic scream he had ever heard. Her body began to calm down with small shivers going through her. He gave her a few more licks and suckles then carefully removed her legs from his shoulders and slowly made his way up her body leaving kiss trails.

Liz moaned lightly as he settled himself on top of her. She loved the feel of his heavy weight. He pushed her sweat-plastered hair away from her face and left small kisses all over. His shifted his weight rubbing himself against her, groaning.

"Max please, " Liz moaned against his lips slowly pushing her hips against him making them both moan. He leaned down and kissed her as he reached down between them and placed himself at her opening. Max pulled away and grabbed his last remaining condom out of his wallet, thankful that he had thought to place two inside. He quickly rolled it on before moving back to his place between her legs.

"Liz, " Max breathed as he pushed himself inside her. She felt so incredible, just like the night before.

Liz leaned her head back as he started a slow agonizing pace. He felt so amazing. She wrapped her arms around his broad shoulders as she was rocked back and forth slowly. Max buried his face her in neck and kissed, sucked and licked the small sweat beads away. He loved the feeling of her thighs pressed tightly around him. He loved being buried so deep inside of her that he never wanted to leave.

"Oh my God Liz..." Max whispered into her ear quickening his pace. He reached back and pulled her legs tighter around him. She whimpered contracting her muscles around him.

"Oh yes, please..." Liz said with a quiver to her voice. He quickened his pace even more, feeling that she was close to a second orgasm.

"Oh God Liz!” Max said loudly into her neck. He pumped in and out in and out over and over. She squeezed her muscles her legs everything tighter around him as she felt a tremendous shudder rake her body. They came together, a single pulse going through their bodies. Max collapsed on top of her breathing heavily into her neck. Liz let her body go limp underneath him, unable to do much of anything.

They did nothing but lay there. Both content with listening to their hearts and steady breathing. But, Max was worried he was too much weight for her. He moved to roll over but two strong hands on his shoulders stopped him.

"Don't move, " Liz whined.

Max smiled down at her and bit back a laugh, “We can’t stay like this, the others will be up soon. We need to get up before we fall asleep like this."

"It wouldn't be so bad would it?” Liz smiled tiredly. She wanted nothing more than to just stay as they were, and stop thinking about what they were going to be doing next.

Max didn’t get to answer the question before a shout came from the hall. “LIZ!”

The panic in the voice was apparent and they jumped up quickly, pulling on clothes as they went. It only took a few seconds before they were heading downstairs. She could see that everyone had heard the shout and could hear various footsteps as they moved to gather in the living room. Liz and Max were barely in the living room when they saw the cause of the scream. A familiar body lying in the floor.

PART 15

Nasedo’s body lay on the Evans’ living room floor, a few feet away from the entrance to the house. Liz didn’t know whether he had landed there himself or if some of the others had dragged him there. But it was evident that at some point, he had collapsed. And it was simple to see why.

Nasedo looked badly injured. His clothes were covered in sand and torn, revealing a body that was a mass of bruises and gashes. It looked like Nasedo had had a run in with someone and they all had a feeling they knew who.

Liz rushed forward and dropped next to Kyle who was the only one to get near the fallen protector. Nasedo was lying face down on the floor and through silent communication, Liz explained that they needed to flip him over. She wouldn’t be able to heal him otherwise; she needed to see his face and into his eyes. When he was turned over, she saw that the front of him was far worse than the back.

“Shit.” Michael said in a combination of shock and disgust.

“Isabel, go up to my room and get the stones.” Liz ordered.

Isabel nodded before turning and rushing up the stairs. Shyla deduced what Liz was going to do and moved forward as well to help. “What stones?”

“There some stones that Nasedo had with him. They’re supposed to help me amplify my healing powers.” Liz answered. “I’ve never actually had to use them before.”

Liz moved closer to Nasedo’s face; he was breathing but still appeared to be out cold. But appearances were deceiving as Liz found out when his eyes suddenly snapped open and his hand seized her arm. “They’re coming! The skins are coming for all of you. You must leave now!”

“We will, just as soon as I fix you up.” Liz said as she stared into his eyes and placed her hand over one of his many injuries. It only took a few seconds before she formed a connection and was in.

Nasedo kneeling on the floor surrounded by a large group of people. Two stood in front of him, a larger man and a smaller girl, in the stages of early adolescents. The larger man stepped forward, delivering several blows along with jolts of white-hot pain. It continued for a few more minutes before the man pulled away and the girl stepped forward. Her eyes were the most cold-blooded she’d ever seen.

“As much as I’ve enjoyed this little show of how dedicated a royal protector is, I’ve got an attack to arrange and I need to know where to find out as much as I can about out little royals.” The girl said before placing her hand over Nasedo’s forehead. A faint glow emaciated from her hand and the tips of her fingers disappeared into Nasedo’s head just before more pain.

Before she could do anything but gain access to his memories of his torture, Liz felt something she had never felt something before. She was pushed out of his mind. Although it was mentally, not physically, Liz was still tossed backwards a foot or so from Nasedo’s form.

“No, you can’t heal me. They know what you can do and made sure that you could not help me.” Nasedo gasped as if it hurt to breathe, which they were all sure that it indeed did. “I barely managed to escape but I had to come and warn you. You have to leave now, go some place safe.”

“I’m not going to stand back and let you die.” Liz acknowledged honestly.

Her and Nasedo might have butted heads more times than she could count but she wasn’t going to let him die if she could help him. Isabel appeared then and started arranging the stones around Liz like she had heard Nasedo describe. Liz moved her hand back to Nasedo injuries to try again and heal him.

“It’s no use,” Kyle said in a dreary voice. “He’s gone.”

“No, I can do this Kyle.” Liz said thinking he meant that she shouldn’t try.

“Liz…Liz…” Max said placing his hand over hers to pull it away from Nasedo. “Look at him and you’ll see what Kyle’s trying to tell you.”

Liz looked up at Max with a look of unawareness before looking back at Nasedo. That’s when she saw what Max meant. Nasedo’s eyes, while always cold and distant were completely lifeless now. His skin suddenly turned colorless and looked as if it was melting off of him. But instead, it only changed to show them his true form, just like the little representations of the aliens from the crash that were plastered around town.

The room was completely silent as Kyle waved his hand over Nasedo’s body. It glowed bright as he used his power to manipulate the body into ashes. Making sure that his body was not discovered was something he would want and Kyle thought it was the best way to mourn the man who raised him.

The scene was all too familiar to the dupes and the final warning of what was coming to the others. They were fighting for their lives, and this time the enemy was extremely formidable. The encounter with the FBI had been destructive but this was different. This was a battle to live.

“Pack up everything we’ll need. Food, sleeping bags, lanterns, clothes.” Liz ordered. “Stow it all in the vehicles, we’re leaving it as soon as it’s done.”

“So we’re running?” Michael asked surprised causing several people to cry out their disapproval.

Liz held up her hands to halt all of their opinions and arguments. “I didn’t say we were running.”

“That’s sure as hell sounds like what you’re talking about.” Rath argued.

“It sounds like your talking about gathering supplies so that we can get out of Roswell with our tails tucked between our legs.” Lonnie added sarcastically.

“No, I’m talking about taking advantage of this confrontation on our own turf.” Liz stated.

“The Podchamber, that’s where we’re going.” Michael said suddenly.

“But why?” Maria asked.

“Like Liz said, it’s familiar ground to us. Not to mention that since it’s higher ground, it’d have a superior view of what’s coming.” Michael stated.

“Plus it’s in an open area, unlike the house and not many humans will accidentally see or get caught in the crossfire.” Liz added to Michael’s assessment.

“A matter that I’m sure they would be thankful of it they knew.” Alex commented.

Kyle couldn’t get the image of Nasedo’s last few moments out of his head. The injuries that covered him and couldn’t but ask. “What did they do to him?”

“They tortured him, trying to find out what they could about us.” Liz said. “Now we don’t have much time. I don’t know how long it took Nasedo to get here so they could be coming at any minute.”

The last bit of information snapped everyone into action. Isabel and Liz informed everyone where they could finding the camping gear that they needed while Dero, Rath, and Michael all collected a few things from Michael’s apartment. Shyla and Lonnie took the tasks of collecting food and as many bottles of water that they could find. With so many people helping, they were ready to go in under an hour.

“Normally I would say that we’d break up and all take different routes to the chamber but I don’t want to run the risks of one of us getting hit and separated from the group. So we all go together, we drive out of town by the most deserted of roads.” Liz informed them.

Everyone nodded before climbing into the various vehicles. Michael, Maria, Courtney and Kyle in his SUV were in the lead, with the dupes following while Tess and the Sheriff were behind them in his cruiser. Liz, Max, Isabel, and Alex were last in the jeep, keeping an eye behind them to make sure that they were followed as they left Roswell.
