My name is Cheryl, derived by my Mom from the most popular television series at that time --- Charlie's Angels. I'm named after Cheryl Ladd and my sister, after Jacqueline Smith... too bad we didn't have another sister we could name after Kate Jackson. If we had a brother... I'm sure he'd be named Charlie...
So you see, even though my mom's a deaf-mute, she enjoys watching TV. Up to now, entertainment is a major part of her life... I mean, what would she do without telenovelas like Pangako Sayo?! My mom can lip-read, but she can't understand Tagalog (The Philippine School for the Deaf has an English-based curriculum)... so we are puzzled as to how she can catch on with the story... jeez!!! I swear she's gifted!
Anyway, between the telenovelas and house chores, she rarely has time to research on unfathomable questions from us when we were kids like - and I quote: "Mom, what is a booger made of??? Why can't I eat it?" - gesturing profusely as we try desperately to translate it into sign language!!! Can you just imagine? So I made this page as a tribute to Moms who deserve a little time for themselves... A list of questions that little children might ask... questions that they can answer of course - in time for Jericho and Kristine's first kiss...
What are boogers made of?
Why do we dream?
How much sleep do we need?
Why is it that if you tickle yourself it doesn't tickle?
Why does hair turn gray?
What causes bad breath?
Why is the middle finger the longest finger?
Why do body joints make popping sounds?
Why is the Eagle the national emblem of the United States?
If nothing sticks to Teflon - how does Teflon stick to the pan?
Who invented the zipper? Why do most Zippers have the letters YKK on them?
Why are there 5,280 feet to a mile?
Why do bubbles attract?
What would happen if there was no dust?
Why do we get Goose Bumps when it is cold?
I bet you didn't know half of the answers to these questions either, huh?! Oh well, I hope you learned a little something, too. I'll be updating this page in due time, so please come back and check it out!
