In the beggining of November 03' I had been talking to this guy named Joe he had a band called Bleeding Embassy and they were looking for a bassist. Well I offered to play bass for them even though I was a guitarist.During that week I met Gloria through my friend elie online she wanted to sell me an A.F.I ticket but I had no money.We chatted for a while and she told me about her boyfriend Anthony and how he was a bassist, and he was looking for a band to play in.So I chatted with him and I told him to meet me at school.I talked to Joe and we talked about letting Anthony playing bass and I went to guitar.After that the new line up for the Embassy was formed.
After a while of being with the band problems started to happen, Alf and Anthony had problems with eachother(for the record me and Anthony never had a problem with eachother if you reading this Joe,Alf,and whoever thought we did)Anthony quit a total of 4 times.I talked him into coming back for 3 out of the 4.
Alf decided he wanted to play guitar now and the band had no drummer.We had a show coming up and we were running out of time.Anthony quit and I was talking to him about being in his new band which didn't really start.Joe and Alf "quit" but in reality they didn't have the balls to tell me they wanted me out but I still had Anthony who is a true friend and a brother to me.I look up to him sometimes cause he's a really cool guy. Oh shit I got sidetracked. Well I joined Anthony's new band but the members never showed up.So me and Anthony began to form our own band
On Febuary 12,04 Anthony met an old friend of his named Alex and they talked about being in a band, they exchanged numbers and Alex became our new drummer. Now it was a three person band but we needed a singer and second guitarist.
A couple of days after Alex joined Anthony invited another one of his old friends named George to play guiatar for us. In the end George switched to drums and alex went to second guitar. The band went well for a couple of weeks until George started to just sit around and tell us "just make up riffs dawg and then I'll put my part". Now I'm not sure when it happend but George decided he wanted me out of the band.I guess what I was making wasn't hard enough for him.I quit and Anthony quit with me.
Now it was just us two and we didn't know what to do or how to start looking for people. We were about to give up but I convinced him not to. Weeks went by and nothing was happening we tried to get people but they were not what we were looking for. Anthony called Alex again and he said he would be our drummer again.Things were looking up again and we wanted to do this.
This is were Jonathan came into play.Remeber that band I said Anthony was in? Yeah the one he was in after he quit Bleeding Embassy, the one I joined too. Well Jonathan was in it too but nobody ever showed up.
After a couple of missed practices Jonathan showed up and we had our first practice as a band. Now everyone in the band was showing up and the band was formed.
Since the end of Febuary we have been a band and plan on staying that way.
After about half a month problems started to happen between me and Anthony. It seemed like our friendship was on a thin line and some people said things that weren't true. I unofficially quit the band but came back because we worked our differences out.If it weren't for Gloria I think we wouldn't have been friends right now. This however gave us energy to make some of our songs and our frienship is stronger than before.
After about a month I realized we needed a name.Thanks to Anthony's cousin she came up with the name and we became Beyond Compare. Then we got our singer Alex Garcia. He is a very quiet person but really cool. Thanks to Anthony's friend Fabian( I think I spelled it right) we got ourselfs a great singer
