Scene One-Going Against Orders |
::"Resident Slut"-Tiffany Evans:: You okay, Pam?
::"More Than Just Electrifying"-Pamela Paulshock:: Just peachy. It's not like being dropped on tacks doesn't hurt or anything.
::"Resident Slut"-Tiffany Evans:: Sorry, dude. I didn't mean-
::"More Than Just Electrifying"-Pamela Paulshock:: Never mind. ::sighs:: I can't believe I freaking lost to Pogo! That idiot is too high on drugs to even say anything worth understanding!
::"Resident Slut"-Tiffany Evans:: We all know it was a screw job, and I'm not talking about the good kind either. If that plastic, blown up Barbie doll Trish Stratus hadn't been a judge, you might have won. The only reason she voted against you is because you kicked her ass three times in a row.
::"More Than Just Electrifying"-Pamela Paulshock:: Yeah, I guess you're- Oooow! Watch the hands buddy.
Pamela swats the medic's hands away.
::"Backstage Medic"-Tyler Burton:: I'm sorry, Miss Paulshock.
::"More Than Just Electrifying"-Pamela Paulshock:: Yeah yeah, whatever. Anyway, I don't need anymore of this.
She hops off the table and immediately keels over in pain. Pam shoots back up, trying to disguise it.
::"More Than Just Electrifying"-Pamela Paulshock:: I'm....fine.
::"Resident Slut"-Tiffany Evans:: No you're not, dude.
::"Backstage Medic"-Tyler Burton:: I have to agree with your friend. I don't think you should be walking around so soon. As a matter of fact, I don't think you should be wrestling..
::"More Than Just Electrifying"-Pamela Paulshock:: Whatever. You don't know what the hell you're talking about. If you did, you'd be a real doctor instead of just a second-rate and inefficient substitute.
The medic gives her a dirty look. Before either of them can say another word, Tiffany cuts in.
::"Resident Slut"-Tiffany Evans:: You sure you're okay? I think you should-
::"More Than Just Electrifying"-Pamela Paulshock:: I'm fine!
::"Backstage Medic"-Tyler Burton:: Alright, then. Suit yourself. I would recommend, though, plenty of rest before you step in the ring again.
::"More Than Just Electrifying"-Pamela Paulshock:: Yeah yeah, whatever. Let's go, Tiff.
Tiffany simply nods her head. The two friends disappear out of the room as the scene fades.
Scene Two-Talking Smack |
::"More Than Just Electrifying"-Pamela Paulshock:: They call this the match of legends. I call this the match of redemption. You right, in the past, you have defeated me. You have been strong. Why was it? What is it that I, Pamela Paulshock, have been subjected to loss after loss when I get in the ring with you. I figured it out. Fear. I feared you. I was afraid to face you. You were the Demonic Deity, a member of The Coming. You were the dark figure who could control life with her very finger tips. But then I thought to myself, "What the hell?" Why am I so afraid of this fancy shmancy special effects bullshit. You act is just that. An act. A facade. You are the imitation of what you think a demon, a dark deity should be. You have opened yourself to the supernatural but have turned into this senseless mockery. To me, you have become a freak show. You have become some useless circus act. Them ore I see you, the less I fear you and the more I kick myself for being afraid of such a joke. You think I should have respect you because of the battles we have fight? Fine. I respect you for that. You put up a good match in the past but don't tell me that I have to fear you because you claim to be the "Big Bad". oooh, I'm quivering in my boots. I'm not twelve anymore, Kat. bed time stories don't scare me and that is what you are. The Boogie Man. The Tooth Fairy. Fake. Not real. A figment of your imagination. Raise the dead. Speak in your faux tongue. Try to intimidate. But I do not fear you anymore. That was the key to your act and I have unlocked it. I figured it out Kat. I don't need to fear you anymore. I trust myself and my ability now. I am the Women's Champion and that is the way it is going to stay. Back then, when you got the best of me, it was because I was just some hopeless girl with a title. I was starry eyed, clueless t all that was around me. But look at me now. Better. Stronger. Faster. Confident. I trust in my ability to defeat you so, Kat, I no longer fear you. I've earned my slot as the best in this division and I'll be damned if I let your clown antics take that away from me. It's not gonna happen. Not this time.
Pamela stares intensely into the camera for a few moments. She backs away as Devon enters the frame.
::"Unseeingly Wise/Undoubtedly Geeky"-Devon Townsend:: Fear. It's simply a four letter word. It is intimidation. It is weakness. The dictionary defines it as a feeling of agitation and anxiety caused by the presence or imminence of danger. But what do we really know about fear? That it makes you weak? No. Only weakness makes you weak. Fear is that precautionary tale, it keeps you on your toes. Why do you think that most of the world caters tot he United States? Fear. It prepares you for life's unexpected moments. It makes you stronger, tougher. If you have fear in your eyes but the courage to persevere, then that fear turns into the very motivation that you will need to overcome that obstacle. It can be your stepping stone, or it can be the brick wall blocking you away from opportunity. Kat, you sense fear in Pamela Paulshock and you are reach. She fears you quite a bit. But be not mistake, dear Kitten, for her fear lies not with your wrestling ability. It is your delusional belief in the supernatural, this ominous force that has you portraying yourself as something you are not. What is a Mephistophelean Mystification? It is a fabrication. Complete fiction. It is you play9ng at the fear of others, trying to intimate others with your outlandish practice. Pamela Paulshock fears you. Not because you are a stronger competitor but because you are just plain...creepy. So what does this all mean? Well, it's quite simple actually. Pam fears you, correction, feared you. She has gotten past that. She sees beyond the cliché catch phrases and the David Blaine illusion tactics. What are are, Kat, what you've become is a mockery to the very institution of wrestling. You have gotten past what matters most which is what happens in that ring. Your mind is clouded with this dark aurora that has you believing that you are immortal. It's attitudes like that that bring the greatest of men down. Do you remember an incident called the Titanic Disaster? Ah yes, quite a story that is. You see, these people built a ship and named her Titanic, after Greek gods the Titans. With her innovative design and adjustments, she was supposed to be unsinkable. Everyone believed it. Everyone. including the captain. But what happened? Blind faith led that ship into that iceberg, causing it to sink and all of that glorified machinery went straight to the bottom. Blind faith killed the Titanic and it is blind faith that will kill you too, Kat. Do you think water tight bulkheads mattered when the water poured through the various decks of the ship? Do you think possessions and crude phrases matters in that ring? It doesn't. So you construct as many dark ceremonies as you want but you will never resurrect talent. You may have been able to defeat Pamela Paulshock in the past but let me remind you that this is the present. In the present, things change. In the present, anything can happen.
Devon smirks for the camera. Pam stands in the background. The cameras fade into commercial break.
