Charles Manson was a would-be musician and a petty criminal who found his way to San Fransicso in the 1960's...The hight of the drug culture...By the end of the decade he had many followers in which he called his "family". They setteled on borrowed land on the outside of Los Angeles. Manson believed he was the modern incarceration of Jesus Christ, and he figured he could benefit from a race war in America....He convinced his followers to go on a murderous killing spree in 1969, during which killed 7 people. The most known victim was Sharon Tate. The subsequent murder trial lasted seven monthes...at the time...it was the longest and most expensive trial in US history. It resulted in guitly verdicts and death sentences for Manson and his followers. In 1972 California outlawed death sentencing and was resentenced to life in prison... |
