[05/14/01] this is summer?
Medical use of marijuana is considered illegal in all aspects, meaning no medical prescriptions whatsoever, while narcotics, amoung countless other harmful drugs, are used in medical practice everyday. Peoples' brains are mushed into thinking "Marijuana, bad. Alcohol and tobacoo, acceptable." So where are the concrete studies that show weed is more harmful than these legal substances? Where are all those numbers that show weed is a huge killer?
Timothy McVeigh's execution is pushed back because the FBI didn't release a bunch of documents? What do those documents prove? It supposedly deals with "John Doe #2", so why get in the way of McVeigh's death? Evidence points to him. He admits it. And now his lawyers think there's a chance to do something with it. How evil can they be? How can they think of getting this man off the hook for the killing of so many people?
And what's with the gas prices? My dad said that it's rumored that prices will go up as high as $3! How did the prices go down a bit, then come up so much more that there's a chance of prices doubling since last year? There's something shady about those companies.

My honda (with a sunroof) now stores water somewhere in the roof. As I was leaving to meet my supervisor, a bunch of it splashes onto the seat and my shirt and pants. So I come back in to change. I go out again, and even more comes out. So I put the car in drive and reverse a few times to get more water out. It seemed like it worked. I change again and go out. And again, I get water on me. My mom puts some towels and sheet on the seat and tells me to wear a jacket before I go next time. So I do. And what happens? I get a few drop in my hair on the way there and back.
I could continue complaining about things, but I'll stop for now. I'm back home. I came back on Saturday, and I still have a lot of unpacking to do. I also need to clean out my closet. There's an unbelievable amount of crap that's been accumulating. If I'm lucky, I'll have more walking space sometime in the next few weeks.
Want to hear a story about how giving plasma can go "bad"? Ryan and I went on Friday to the medical center. I'm hooked up fine and start the process. Ryan, however, is hooked up by some stupid lady who couldn't stick the needle correctly into his vein on his left arm, so he ended up getting a bruise (not to mention a lot of soreness and pain). Another tech hooked him up in the right arm. I'm about 75% done when my needle gets a bit loose, so that same guy readjusts the needle and tells me to start pumping my arm (but I'm in the process of getting blood back into my system); he didn't realize this until a few seconds later, but by then I had blood in surrounding tissue and the area was swelling. So that gets bandaged and they try to find a vein in my right arm so that they can pump the rest of the blood in. But they can't find the main vein. So I lose blood and I'm done.

The afternoon has turned out to be much nicer. I went to visit a few high school teachers. It was fun. I felt a bit awkward though, because I didn't know if I was hanging around them too much. Ah well. Each time one of them asked me how I liked my major, I was always confused on what exactly to say. But a few told me that I should pursue what I want and that I shouldn't feel the need to stay in something I don't like. If only I excelled at something...
With nothing left to say, I'll make a list of what I need to do this summer:
- play EQ (I haven't played in over 2 weeks. isn't that crazy?)
- compose more music; learn Csound; make songs
- draw more
- get in shape
- write tutorials for ASP; possibly Javascript and/or JSP
- learn Flash
- read books
- try to get ahead in whatever classes I can
And, of course, make lots of money. Toodles.
