Game Tips
The game has many cool things. Of course, I cannot list all of them, and even I don't know some.
Here are some practical tips (help you to drive faster). Maybe many of you have known, or few of you have known, or even is first made by me! For the non-practical cool-things ('explore' the 'world'), you may find them yourself.
Tips for all track races:
Go to the check-points as straight as possible (join the check-points with straight lines), but avoid steep slopes and water ponds! Remember the places of the check-points as many as possible. Turn on the map ,finder and rear-mirror.
Tips for all rumbles:
Just crash the others but stay yourself in the summit! Never stop!
Detailed tips for each track:
Farm Road 29 : After the CP (check-point) 3, make left U-turn and go straight on the rail until you see CP 4. But of course, be careful of the train! After CP 4, make a large smooth turn to the left and just go beside the right of the house. You can reach CP 5 sooner.
The Heights : Make smoother turns between CP 1 & 2 ! Before the FL (finish line) you will run on a 'river'. Don't drive on it! Use the highway ('high' way!) on the right!
The Graveyard : Caution! Slipperly! After CP 4, make a left U-turn and drive straight until you see CP 5.
Scrapyard Run : Avoid so many curves between CP 2 & 3. After CP 3, immediately turn right and you will see a green-grass area, then turn more and you will immediately see CP 4.
Crazy '98 : After CP 4, immediately turn left and sweep the fences and the cones. Then go over the by-pass. But there is a minimum requirement: for rookie & intermediate level, you should use gear 1000 or higher; for professional level, any gear will work.
Sidewinder Canyon : You can make a large shortcut between CP 4 & 5. After CP 4, go around the curve and over the bridge. When you see some fences, hit them ( turn right ) and go down. You will see CP 5 very soon.
Voodoo Island : After CP 2, turn to the right water pond ( Must be right. If you go to the left one, you will have troubles! ) Go through it with full speed. Then climb up the green slope and you will see CP 3 immediately. Immediately after CP 3, climb straight up the hill.
The Excavation : After CP 2, immediately reverse your car (U-turn) and go straight of the original way, and continue to go straight, you will see CP 3 in front of you.
Tinhorn Junction : Avoid the curves between CP 4 & 5 ( Too troublesome isn't it? ). Of course, go straight. If you are very professional (pro level + gear 2000) try this: after CP 2, make a large U-turn to the left and reach back the original way that going to CP 2. You are now going towards the railway. Go straight with full speed and then FLY, over the railway and the sharp ridge. Very cool isn't it? You will then see CP 3 very soon. Caution: if your car is not fast enough, you will be trapped on the sharp ridge.
Breakneck ridge : No special tips, but try to turn more smoothly.
Tumbleweed Flats : Just try to join the CPs with real straight lines, except CP 11 & 12, you still need to drive over the bridge.
* Torture Pit : Drive as slow as possible! ( But of course don't stop! ) The course is too small, so you must drive carefully! Don't miss any CPs (especially CP 4)!
* Someone will ask, "Is there any 'Torture Pit'? " Of course! It is a secret track. Just play 'Sidewinder Canyon'. After CP 4, turn around the curve, go over the bridge. At the end of the bridge, turn right. Go straight through the road. When you see a bridge on the right, turn to the bridge and go straight. It will prompt you if you are successful to open this track. Then you need to restart the game in order to get it.
** Tundra Madness in LA : No shortcut. You must exactly follow the route or you will have problems!
