When I Saw You

When I saw you,
You were walking along.
A bright sunny day,
Not a cloud in the sky,
The birds were singing,
Wings gliding by.


My heart skipped a beat,
It went all a flutter.
Like a bolt of lighning
I was struck down.
My breath was short,
Thought I might drown.


Time passes by,
Days go on.
Can't get you out of my mind,
Can't eat, sleep, or think.
Don't know what to do
Except dream of you.


Hope it's not too late,
Chance slipping away.

How do I approach?
A stranger am I,
And a little bit shy.
