Cumulus

Angry thunder roars across the skies,
Darkness spreads, within,
Cumulus rolls in, grey and menacing,
Foreshadowing what's on the mind.
Winds scream and shriek,
Roots of earth struggle to hang on.
Moisture hangs in the air.

Cumulus breaks down
Wet droplets paint the earth,
Lightning streaks the stratosphere.
Cutting the cumulus apart, arcing.
Pitter patters increase,
Puddles form beneath the feet,
Release is complete.

Sometimes hope is a thin strand that's hard to hold on to
So easy to give up and lay on down,
Tired of carrying the weight
Have to stop and rest once in awhile,
Have to stop and cry once in awhile,
Release the cumulus once in awhile,
Feel better is what you will.
