[Two gun-toting robbers entering to hold up a bank...]

Bankteller:  Oh, dear!

02 Right

[Bankteller pressing alarm button with foot]

Bzzzzz

03 Left Bankrobber1:  Everybody on the floor NOW!
03 Right Bankrobber1:  Sound any alarms... and you're all DEAD!
04 Left

[Station police monitering alarm call system]

Station police:  Robbery in progress at the Central Bank.

04 Right

[Two beat-cops on break at a donut coffee shop]

Cop1:  A large sprinkled donut, Mildred.
Cop2's walkie-talkie call sound:  "Car 209..."

05 Left Cop2:  Let's go, Murph!
Cop1 (Murph):  J!!!X! This happens every time I order a sprinkled donut.

05 Right Cop2 (Joe):  Murph, how many times have I asked you not to take the Lord's name in vain.
Murph:  Just shut up, Joe!

06 Left Joe:  Backup is on the way.
Murph, with gun in hand:  I'll go in first!

06 Right

[Bankrobbers shoot at the two cops in the bank]

BLAM
BLAM
BLAM

[Joe gets shot while jumping in front of Murph and dropping his gun]

07 Left Two hours later

Doctor, to Joe:  You were lucky, Officer Donovan.  You suffered only flesh wounds.

07 Right Joe, with arm-sling:  What about Murph?
Doctor:  He was hit in th spleen and kidney.  He won't make it.

08 Left 30 minutes later

Murph, lying in intensive care bed:  Why did you dive in front of me and take those bullets, partner?
Joe:  Because I'm ready to die, Murph... and
YOU'RE NOT!

08 Right Murph:  What?  Are you that sure where you are going?
Joe:
Absolutely!

In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;  Titus 1:2

Titus 1:2
In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

09 Left Joe, showing a verse from the bible to Murph:  Look what God says in His word:

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life...*

*1 John 5:13

1 John 5:13
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

09 Right Joe:  When I trusted Jesus Christ as my Saviour, God promised I'd go straight to heaven when I died.

He that believeth on the Son (Jesus) hath everlasting life...  John 3:36

John 3:36
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

10 Left Murph:  But what about purgatory?
Joe:  There's no such place, Murph... The Catholic church invented it.*

*See Understanding Roman Catholicism, Pg. 133, from Chick Publications

10 Right Joe:  Think about it.  Would a God who really loves you want you to live not knowing... if you were headed for an eternity in a lake of fire?
11 Left Murph:  That WOULD be really cruel, wouldn't it?
Joe:  It sure would, Murph.  That's why God's word tells us that...

11 Right Joe:  ...we can know for certain that we will go to heaven.

Jesus said: In my Father's house are many mansions... I go to prepare a place for you... that where I am, there ye may be also.  John 14:2, 3

John 14:2
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
John 14:3
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

12 Left Murph:  Look Joe, I've been a Catholic my whole life... Maybe I should talk to my priest about this.

It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.  Psalm 118:8

Psa 118:8
[It is] better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

12 Right Joe:  Okay, Murph, I'll be back tonight... with a sprinkled donut!
13 Left Later

Murph, to his priest:  Father, I'm not gonna make it.  I've gotta settle things right now.  My partner says I can know for sure that I'll go to heaven when I die.

13 Right Priest, to Murph:  Oh, NO... my son, that is the wicked sin of presumption.*
Murph:  But Father, I saw it in the Bible.

*See 1994 Catechism of The Catholic Church, Pg. 507, #2092

Catechism of the Catholic Church, pg. 507, third numbered item under 'Hope':

2092
There are two kinds of presumption. Either man presumes upon his own capacities, (hoping to be able to save himself without help from on high), or he presumes upon God's almighty power or his mercy (hoping to obtain his forgiveness without conversion and glory without merit).

14 Left Priest:  Listen... you need MORE than just the Bible.  You also need the magisterium and the traditions of the Church.

Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.*

*Matt. 15:6

Matt 15:6
And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.

14 Right Priest:  And church tradition says that NOBODY... not even popes... can know where they will go when they die.

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men... and not after Christ.*

*Colossians 2:8

Col 2:8
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

15 Left Murph:  Joe also said the Catholic church invented Purgatory.  Is that true, Father?
15 Right Priest:  Well, uh... yes, that is true, my son.
Murph:  But the church is INFALLIBLE on these matters of tradition.

Jesus said: Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?  Matthew 15:3

Matt 15:3
But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?

16 Left Joe returns

Murph:  I'm getting a weird feeling about my religion, partner.
Joe:  I know how you feel, Murph.  I used to be a Catholic too.  I had no peace or hope and...

16 Right Joe:  ...I was afraid to die because I didn't know where I'd go.
Murph:  Yeah, that's just how I feel.  What changed you, Joe?

17 Left Joe:  One day, a real friend loved me enough to open his Bible and show me that salvation... is a FREE GIFT.

...the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Romans 6:23

Rom 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

17 Right Joe:  When I received that gift, my spiritual eyes were opened.  I finally understood that salvation is in Christ... NOT in a church!

He that hath the Son (Jesus) hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.  1 John 5:12

1 John 5:12
He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

18 Left Joe:  I also saw how deceptive Catholicism is.  Rather than offering people freedom in Christ...
18 Right Joe:  ...It keeps them in bondage to the church.  Catholics keep doing good works, hoping to earn their way into heaven.
18 Footer Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ... for by the work of the law shall no flesh be justified.  Galatians 2:16 Gal 2:16
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

19 Left Murph:  Yeah, I noticed that YOU offered me real hope from God's word.*  But my priest offered me nothing but church traditions.

Jesus Christ said:  Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.  Mark 7:9

Mark 7:9
And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

19 Right Joe:  It's time to choose, Murph.  It's Christ or dead religion... And your time is running out.
20 Left Murph:  Joe, I'd be a fool to trust in man.*  I've gotta go with the word of God.

*Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man... Jeremiah 17:5

Jer 17:5
Thus saith the LORD; Cursed [be] the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.

20 Right Murph:  I'm gonna trust ONLY in what Christ did for me on the cross.
Joe:
Great, Murph!... Let's pray right now!

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.  Romans 10:13

Rom 10:13
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

21 Left Murph:  Lord Jesus, please forgive all my sins, especially trusting in the Catholic church instead of You.  Please come into my heart and save me right now.
21 Right Murph:  WOW!... Now I know what you were talking about, Joe!  I'm READY to die!  I KNOW I'm saved!
21 Footer For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.  Ephesians 2:8-9 Eph 2:8
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9
Not of works, lest any man should boast.

22 Left 1:30 am

[Murph dies and his soul, while he smiles with joy, leaves his body as an angel takes him by the arm...]

Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.  Psalm 116:15

Psa 116:15
Precious in the sight of the LORD [is] the death of his saints.

22 Right

Dear Catholic Friend...

Now YOU must choose.  Will you obey the traditions of sinful men, or the word of God?

Catholicism says you must earn heaven through good works in the Catholic church.

God's word says salvation is a free gift you can have right now.

Who will YOU believe?

23

THE BIBLE SAYS THERE'S ONLY ONE WAY TO HEAVEN!

Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."  John 14:6

NOBODY ELSE CAN SAVE YOU
1. Admit you are a sinner.
2. Be willing to turn from sin (repent).
3. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you, was buried and rose from the dead.
4. Through prayer, invite Jesus into your life to become your personal Saviour.

WHAT TO PRAY
Dear God, thank you for showing me what You think about Catholicism, I also reject it!  I accept Christ's sacrifice as perfect and complete.  Please forgive me in Jesus' name.  I invite Jesus Christ to come into my life and I place my trust in Him alone for my salvation.  Thank you for giving me eternal life right now.

Did you accept Jesus Christ as your own personal Saviour?

Yes [] No []
Date_______________

If your answer was yes, then this is just the beginning of a wonderful new life with Christ.  Now:

1. Read your Bible every day to get to know Christ better.
2. Talk to God in prayer every day (in your own words.)
3. Be baptized, worship, fellowship, and serve with Christians in a church where Christ is preached and the Bible is the final authority.
4. Tell others about Christ.

John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
